Has anyone used the Atkins snacks on the Induction Phase 1? I heard it can stall, but does has not happen to me. I just have to eat only 2 a day and not 4. Even at 4 it did not stall. But I can go for 2 cause I am about to add exercise back into my routine and plan to have 1 snack during day and 1 after I work out. Very Happy

Different people have different reactions to them. For me I noticed that when I started to use a lot of artificial sweeteners (especially with some kind of caffeinated beverage) my weight loss slowed down a little. So I just reduced my use of the Atkins snacks and cut down to one cup of regular coffee a day. Seems to work for me. The thing is there are all kinds of factors that can mitigate the efficacy of the Induction Phase. Keep track of what you're eating and if you notice you stop losing weight after you added a particular food try cutting back on it for a while and see if that helps.

Another problem with the Atkins bars during Induction is that it's actually very hard to fit them into the parameters of Induction. If you're truly getting 12-15 net carbs of foundation veggies, that only leaves you 5-8 net carbs left. Sure, a 2 net carb bar "seems" to fit in there, but there are lots of cheeses, processed meats and egg items that have a carb, or partial carb, here or there, and before you know it, those 5-8 net carbs are used up and you're right up against that 20 net carb target - NOT INCLUDING the Atkins bar!

Even if you're working the 2010 version of Atkins with its focus on net carbs, you may find, later in your journey, that you also need to keep an eye on TOTAL carbs....and, of course, just about any Atkins bar, and even other low-carb products, typically pack a huge punch in the TOTAL carb department.

I typically did not have a problem using 1 bar - in OWL - as long as it was one that had low total and net carbs, as well as having a lower sugar alcohol total. The bar I used most often was 12 TC, 3 NC and just 4 sugar alcohols. Much beyond that did not work for me at that time.

Good luck.

I had to cut them out to really curb the sugar cravings. After induction, I added them in periodically. The sugar alcohols in low carb desserts can do a number on digestion. Good luck!

weigh in
Good luck! I weigh in every day which has to stop. It is too easy to get caught up in the excitement of seeing the scale drop so much in a week-that is because of water weight I am sure.

Need suggestions on healthy/low-calorie foods.
You can use shakes for a few days. I have used the Atkins shakes and they are very good tasting. Soups are good though as stated above you may have to puree them. You could puree or blend cottage cheese ...
