I eat a lot of meat, mostly extra lean white meat with a little red thrown in for iron (I'm anemic). My doctor told me to eat high protein and lower carbs, she told me to try to keep my carbs at half to one third of my protein intake.

In addition to meat, lentils, beans, soya, cheese, and paneer are good sources of protein. From what I heard, 35% of our calories should come from protein.

protein minimum = .8g/lb to remain in a neutral nitrogen balance (which is good)
fat minimum = .35g/lb to ensure proper hormone function and so on
the remainder of calories may be consumed as fats, protein or carbs in any ratio based on personal preference
note: protein and fat have a minimum and carbs do not. this doesnt mean that carbs dont have their place or that they should be cut from a diet.

Can you do yogurt? A friend recommended to me plain yogurt with splenda mixed in. Maybe try that with some berries. I've been putting frozen raspberries in my protein shake.
