Jogging/running makes me sick.

I've been fast-walking on the treadmill for a week, and this week I've tried adding jogging into the mix. Every 10 minutes walking I'll jog for 2 minutes. I've noticed that after jogging a couple of times I get a tired, almost sick feeling in my upper stomach. Is this because I'm not used to jogging or I'm doing something else wrong?

I don't think so, it only happens when I jog and the feeling goes away after walking it off for 5 minutes.

on a normal healthy diet of 2000 cals you should have 230grams of carbs 45grams of protein 70grams fat(20grams of sats fat) you are on a high aerobic exercise regime so should be on a higher carb ratio for stamina like the top athletes they eat pasta bananas etc this is probably why you feel sick. your body will eat your muscle before fat. try slow weight lifting start with light weights (tins of beans,bottles of water)and slowly work your way up.use the machines in a gym if you can but stick to 6 to 8 reps done slowly. If you stick to aerobic increase your carbs bearing in mind aerobic will take longer to shift the weight.hope this helps.

ya know. i get that too when i run. it's either i ate too soon before i ran, (i like to run on a more or less empty stomach), i'm dehydrated, or i started off too fast. it gets better. just keep doing, maybe start at a fast walk, then a good job pace, not too fast, but not almost fast walk speed. do you listen to music when you run? sometimes, if i start off with a pain, i listen more to the music and get lost in it and sooner than i know it i've already gone a mile. distract yourself. or jsut do the run/walk ratio more often. keep it up!! i hope this helps!!

i get that too if i run when i get back i have a drink immediately because i think the nausea is exercise dehydration......try more fluids

I find that I get heart burn sometimes when I run or "wog" (walk, run, walk, run). My doctor actually warned me that I might get it (because I am fat) and told me not to let it stop me. NO idea if this is what you are experiencing.

When I first started out I was getting serious heartburn when I ran coupled with upset stomach. 20 lbs lighter and I feel much better. I also found that I was getting more sick on an empty stomach. Now I have an EAS lean protein shake before I run in the morning. Using milk it's about 185 calories with a good mix of protein, fiber and carbs. It's just enough to keep me going. You probably need to find what amount of full/empty stomach works best for you. Keep at it!
