I have been following a almost no carb diet. Under 1000 cal per day. NO success.
I admit to adrenal fatigue, any ideas?

If you are on a ketogenic diet (20-80 g/day carbs), maybe try to up your natural fats (olive oil, avacado, coconut oil, animal), but if you increase your carbs to "low carb" but not ketogenic (80-150 g/day carbs - or above 150), reduce fat intake. A good resource for information on low carb type of diets is marksdailyapple.com.

I haven't been on here much lately (as you can see by my calendar and weight scale... and am just getting back on because I have been struggling on the low-carb diet. It's important to educate yourself if you are going to be low-carb, high protein, high fat... I'm currently reading "Diet 101: The truth about low-carb diets" and it's alot of statistical analysis of diet research comparing low-carb/high fat vs low-cal/low-fat, but is enlightening because once it's analyzed, it is put into terms a normal person can understand. I had alot of success on a low-cal, low-fat, but all of the processed foods always worried me and if I fell off the wagon, the weight would creep back up... and after trying a low-carb diet, I find the same thing... but to a greater extent even...(attesting to the fact that no matter what diet you are on, it has to be FOR GOOD) I'm currently trying to test my body to see how it does on low cal, low carb, high protein, moderate-low fat, WHOLE NATURAL foods - no matter what diet you are embarking on, one rule remains the same (calories in vs calories out)... 1000 calories is LOW though esp. if you want to get all the daily recommended nutrients - I aim for 1200 - 1400 (when i'm being good
lol) (fyi - originally, when I joined fat-secret about 3 or 4 years ago, I was doing a low-cal, low-fat, high fiber diet and went from 207 lb. to 138 lb. I did have 15 lbs. of success on the low-carb regimen; however, I find it difficult to maintain that for longer than a few months at a time, hence the weight GAIN instead of loss... AND once you lose the first time, it is harder and SLOWER loss the longer you are on that kind of diet.

Low carb will definitely cause your fatigue, but so is your calorie deficit. You're likely in starvation mode where your body is hording fat stores because it's starving, and doesn't know when the next food will come in.
The average man needs about 2000 calories per day, the average woman about 1800. Those are variable with each body but they're a good place to start for maintaining weight. To lose weigh from there subtract 500 calories per day.
I would recommend going against the fads, and just learn to eat healthy clean foods in the right amounts. Stay away from pre-made, processed stuff like frozen dinners. Eat lean meats, leafy greens and fresh vegetables, and whole grain complex carbs.
Your body needs carbs, they're the gas in the tank, though the average person eats way too many. I personally shoot for 40% of my intake to come from carbs, 40% from protein, and 20% from fats. It's balanced, and my calories are always in the range I need because I measure and weigh my foods so I can accurately track them.
If you learn those habits you can kick the fad diets out the door and live a healthy, fit life.

Fruit
Can you do yogurt? A friend recommended to me plain yogurt with splenda mixed in. Maybe try that with some berries. I've been putting frozen raspberries in my protein shake.
