Hello, Megan, and welcome aboard.

I count calories, so what is really important to me is not WHAT is in the lunch box but much more how many calories it'll be.

I eat the same breakfast every morning (Two boiled eggs, two slices of rye bread, one slice of ham), so I know exactly how many calories it'll cost me. My lunch is almost always leftovers from the day before. Since I have already calculated calories on last night's dinner, it's really easy to calculate my lunch calories. It's always planned the night before. Then, when I know what breakfast and lunch will cost me, I automatically know what amount of calories I have left for dinner, and potential snacks.
Be aware, though, that sugar snacks (also fruits like banana) can lead to your body craving more sugars and it'll be hard to resist. Go for low sugar snacks.
I hope this makes sense. Smile

Hello Megan and welcome, I completely agree with kingkeld about counting your calories and not eating more than what your body needs (calories are the fuel that helps you move around) I also added giving up refined flours (bread, pasta, etc) and sugars (candy, puddins, etc) and it has helped me a lot.

I also stopped eating fast-food and junkfood and am focusing on eating veggies instead of them, it was very, very hard at the beginning but once your body gets used to it becomes a part of your life.

Good luck.

low-fat or fat free string cheese and celery, tuna/chicken salad made w/ non-fat mayo on whole-grain bread, apple slices w/ reduced fat peanut butter, veggie burger (frozen food section) w/ low-fat cheese, tomato & lettuce on a whole-grain bun, non-fat yogurt, carrot sticks, Subway sandwich w/ lean meat & lots of veggies on 9-grain bread, chef salad w/ low fat or non fat salad dressing. Steer clear of things made w/ white flour and refined (table) sugar, as they will leave you feeling unsatisfied, sluggish, and hungrier. Good luck!
