Have just joined FS. I am doing low carb diet due to having diabetes and want to control by diet only if possible. Have found that low carb diet really helps with the blood glucose readings. Its tough going sometimes but just something that I have to do. Need to lose lots of weight too. Have lost 10lb so far. long way to go though

Welcome! Controlling your blood glucose is more important than losing weight if you want to become healthy. The weight will naturally come off if you get the diabetes under control. It's one of the great side effects of this way of eating! Look forward to seeing your progress. We can all succeed with a little support and encouragement and a will to get healthier! Good luck!
I'd rather be thin!

I feel great..I'm hoping I'm looking a little better, but have only dropped I think 17 lbs so far...but dangit, I'm working on it!! I hope you do well with your glucose readings and you also concour that nasty diesese to the best of your ability..YOU CAN DO IT!! Feel free to friend me, I will throw you some pointers that has helped me..

Even though fat doesn't count in Atkins, it can cause you to gain or not lose weight if you consume too much. Be careful of over eating this nutrient. ie: cream, cream cheese.
