What is the deal with these scales? People keep mentioning them. I know they have wifi and can beam your weight to whatever you have it linked to, but they are pricey. Do they do anything else, other than the standard weight and BF%?

no they sync automatically without need of manual input. Useless for me since I weigh once a month or so, but for those who love to track their daily and intradaily fluctuations it might be a cool gadget.
For the body monitor part, Omron are better and cheaper, but they do not have wifi

Personally I would rather see an integration with body monitors such as bodymedia or others on the market rather than with a scale. I do not see the great benefit of the scale integration, maybe because I feel that weighing too often is actually counterproductive
