LOL, Erika. Thanks. You just inspired me to do another "how-to" post. Smile

This thread is so inspiring! It's also been interesting to me that when I look in the mirror I feel like I look like the 300-pound before pictures when I am closer to some of the 190-pound pictures. I know my self-worth is severely lacking, but I didn't realize my gauge was that far off! I've been here since Monday, which was my 30th birthday. I've gone through some things the last few years and I constantly find myself comparing myself to others and beating myself up over how much better than me they are. I was a size 18 in high school, but a 6 by the time I graduated college. I maintained that weight for several years before the emotional eating began and I regained. I've lost from 218 to 193 over the last six to eight months, but didn't do it in a healthy way but rather just stopped eating due to depression. I'm here to try to find my self-worth and to feel better about myself again while learned to eat healthily. I hope this community can be the support I need to do that.

Just finished the New Year's Resolution Challenge so I thought I'd post my before and after pictures from that. Lost 26.5 pounds in 12 weeks.

Awesome job Kat!

Does anybody really think that they didn't get what they had because they didn't have the talent or the strength or the endurance or the commitment?

Thanks sj & Keld! Ha, no it really wasn't at all. Just gotta keep putting one foot in front of the other, so to speak. What's funny is that I've had this idea in my head that since my WL slowed over the past year & a half that I wasn't making "good" progress. Then I came across the middle picture & compared to the current one & realized that all that arse I've been kicking in the gym really IS making a difference!

Take those pictures people...the scale isn't your only measure of progress!

Miranmao, so well done! Question: How do you measure your body fat? I have a scale at home that supposedly measure it, however I think it's not very reliable. I have a lot of loose skin, which I am sure is confusing it. I have a measurement of body fat of 6%, and I am sure that's not correct. If you're 14%, and I am 6% I should look frickin' beef-cake!
