My wish: What I want more than anything is to become a nurse and make other people healthy, happy, and always smiling.
My selfish wish: for just one day someone would make ME smile.

Oh, Jennifer, that's not selfish at all! I really hope you have that wish come true soon! Thanks for sharing!

Short term goal- make it through the next week with my sanity intact...finals
Then finish my nursing degree next semester
Next few years-Travel, do at least one medical mission trip abroad. Be happy and healthy (avoiding the health problems of many in my family), start a family and eventually be in the position to eventually make that medical missionary work my 'job'.
Weight loss is far from my most important goal for me, but I'm married but don't have children yet and at my heaviest 198 lbs, the idea of putting on additional 20-30lbs during pregnancy sounded crazy... now this isn't the sole reason I have waited (am also a full time college student). But it does make sense to be in good health before putting your body through the stress of pregnancy or even old age for that matter: I want to be healthy. Plus I strive to not be a hypocrit, how can I stress the importance of healthy behaviors and maintain a healthy weight as a nurse, If I am not doing that myself? Plus I hate to perpetuate sterotypes, traveling abroad, I don't want to be 'that fat American'.

I wish to finally get a green card so that I don't have to worry that my job is required to live in the US (I'm Belarusian-Canadian and LOVE Canada, but my love and my life is here right now).
The longer term goal is to have a family. By Belarussian standards I'm an old maid (at 27 years old and not yet married)
The on-going wish is to maintain my involvement in sports and outdoor activities. Otherwise, why do I need 4 tents and 6 sleeping bags?

I want to take the LSAT by the end of the year and start law school by fall 2012. Simultaneously, I want to complete the last few classes for my BA degree in Political Science and graduate with honors.
Meanwhile, I will continue to raise two healthy and happy children, move forward in life as a newly single woman/mom, and start living the life I've wanted for years: happy, healthy, and active

Personally- To take a world tour. To have a happy and fulfilling life with hubby and daughter.
To have some passion which is larger than life...I feel I am so ordinary, nothing special abt me that wud make people go..wow, I wish I could be like her!!

Thanks OTeez and ruchi0112 for sharing your wishes. It is doable. I believe this journey is not just for weight loss but pursuing our happiness in life. Some people achive their dream yet still not happy for they haven't been kind to their body with clean food & exercise. Best wishes to your goals! Have a happy and healthy week, you all!

I would love to be certified in EAP (Equine-Assistive Psychotherapy) to help people like me, who have been abused. Horses are such great therapy! I want to own a little farm somewhere with enough room for a few horses and some dairy goats and chickens. I want to grow a garden full of tomatoes and asparagus and sunflowers, big ones! I have always been happier in the country than the city. I would like to make my living somewhere where my husband and I can be happy and raise a family... even if it's just a family of horses, goats, chickens and big dang sunflowers.

For me I know the extra weight I am carrying is the reason behind the arthritis pain I have so that is a big factor.

For me true happiness will be when I finally become pregnant. I've struggled with infertility for over 12 years and my husband and I can in no way afford adopting. Part of me losing weight is to be able to get pregant, so for me weight loss and getting pregnant both makes me happy!

Besides the weight loss - I would love to finally receive my BBA in Computer Information Systems in December and be able to enroll my 2 children in all of the extra curricular activities that their little hearts desire since I have had to put some of that on hold due to attending classes in the evenings after work.

I want to be the creation that God designed me to be. I have 35 more pounds to lose to reach my goal weight. I don't weight to be my focus in life. Life is full of so many things than worrying about my weight. God did not design any of us to be overweight.

unrealistically: I wish my family is whole again with my dad still alive and healthy, he was a wonderful man who lost his battle to lung cancer.
realistically: I wish my road to become a dentist will be smooth from now on. Since my father died I made a lot of bad choices in my education path basically wasted 8 yrs of my life graduating with a worthless degree. 10k in student loan... now going back to school starting from the bottom with DA hoping this will get me into a good DH school and hopefully in less than 10 yrs DDS ...

For me, I just want to be able to go outside without being ashamed of my belly. And be able to shop without being scared nothing will fit. Being able to go swimming without feeling like the one people are staring at, and being able to look in the mirror and say; "You look really good today!".
It'd feel so good to be able to run without all my fat flabbing around me, haha. I guess right now, that's what I want most.
