I've got on the Atkins a week ago. Up to day 5 I lost about 5 lb. But on day six I gained 1, and on day 7 it went up another 1!!! I haven't cheated at all, and even ate less. I drink enough water, no alcohol- what's going on?

Took a peek at diet first thing is everything there for yesterday? You need to eat 12-15 net carbs of foundation veggies perday, each meal should have 4-6oz of protein ( which is a lot)snacks can be cheese but you are limited to I believe 2oz a day on induction. Go back over to Atkins site and re-read how to do the induction I have had to restart a few times myself. It is a science where you need enough calories( eating less is not the correct approach) as well as specific foods to make it work. I have been trying for 6 months and lost 25lbs very very slowly. Take the time to get the program right in your mind, even if you make some errors try to correct along the way. Good Luck!

There is a cream limit as well.
i agree on changing to eat a bit more veggies and a lot more clean protien (clean protein being real fish or meat or eggs)
Too much dairy can be a problem.
I often tried to have in my weightloss period
egg, bacon a few veggies for breakfast
A salad with meat or tuna or eggs for lunch
Meat or fish with a veggie for supper
Drink plenty of water
Very normal to see fluctuation though. So don't let them bother you too much. Try to make the average count or only one weekly weighin count.

Excellent advice so far. Keep logging in your foods here and that way you'll have a clearer picture of what's happening.
Fluctuation is quite normal and the longer you go, the better idea you'll have of what's normal for you.
Something as simple as eating over half your calories for dinner (like that steak) can influence the next day's weight, particularly if you're weighing yourself even a little bit earlier than usual. Sometimes, eating higher sodium foods will throw off your next day's weight.
It's not always possible, but if you can, try to space out your meals and snacks somewhat evenly throughout the day. And keep the water flowing!!
Good luck.

weigh in
Good luck! I weigh in every day which has to stop. It is too easy to get caught up in the excitement of seeing the scale drop so much in a week-that is because of water weight I am sure.

Need suggestions on healthy/low-calorie foods.
You can use shakes for a few days. I have used the Atkins shakes and they are very good tasting. Soups are good though as stated above you may have to puree them. You could puree or blend cottage cheese ...

Even though fat doesn't count in Atkins, it can cause you to gain or not lose weight if you consume too much. Be careful of over eating this nutrient. ie: cream, cream cheese.
