Be careful what kind of juice you are buying! I bought Ocean Spray and what I thought was 100% cranberry juice but found out after reading the label that yes, it's 100% juice but there are other juices involved. In this case, it was mixed with apple juice. The bad thing is that the apple juice was listed b/4 cranberry so that means there's less cranberry juice in there than I thought to begin with. This is the season to make your own juice as she said in the book. It's so easy and I took the advice of another person and put a stick of cinnamon in with it. Cooled it and refrigerated overnight to allow the cinnamon to really seep out. Took the stick out and put the mixture in the blender. This had much more flavor and substance to it. The color is real pretty, too! I was surprised to find that while it's on the tart side, I didn't need to add any Splenda. So give this a "whirl" and save yourself some money but above all, the juice will be 100% cranberry and you'll be getting extra fiber if you end up blending the mixture rather than just draining off the water.

This also applies to people who aren't pre-diabetic or diabetic. Levelling out extreme insulin peaks and troughs is key to keeping hunger at bay, feeling good and losing weight.

This is a great time to make your own cranwater while they are in season. I get a bag of cranberries for 99 cents here so you are saving bundles; it is however, a little time consuming.
