I just ordered powdered peanut butter which has 45 calories per 2 tbsps so I can satisfy my craving. I guess I've been lucky so far as I really only crave peanut butter and Nutella sandwiches, but they haven't been intense I guess. The powdered peanut butter also comes with a chocolate flavour so I can satisfy my chocolate and peanut butter craving in one!!

I deal with cravings a couple of ways. First is by making sure I don't allow myself to get very hungry, that keeps me in control. Switching to Calorie Count has allowed me to be flexible with my foods. If I really want something I work it into my daily calorie plan. Another thing I do is try to wait a couple days and see if I still really need it. I use this trick if its something I don't normally keep in my house like candy or french fries. Occasionally, a healthy version of the craving will help too.

I haven't had a really serious craving in a couple of weeks & I'm hoping my last Craving Experience will serve me for a while. I have been a big fan of Reese's cups for my whole life. So there I was, paying for gasoline & right in my face: Reese's 2 for $1. Reese's cup AND a sale...too much temptation. So I grabbed a pack (just one) and ate the first one, slowly, savoring the fantasticness of it, intentionally not looking at the label. Popped the 2nd cup in my mouth, whole, and started to chew... And the thing GREW in my mouth! I thought I would choke on the fat that I knew it was loaded with & suddenly it didn't taste so good. It tasted kinda like Crisco...or lard...and the more I thought about it, the bigger it got! I finally had no choice but to spit it in a napkin. I added both cups to my food journal to remind me later how much a couple of seconds of yumminess would "cost" me. So far I haven't needed that reminder...the yucky taste/texture in my mouth has been enough!

I definitely suffer the intense cravings! This may sound too simple, but my best craving deterrent is GUM! I keep all flavors around from fruity to minty and my personal favorite Mint chocolate chip ice cream flavor from Extra. I keep the gum in my car, in my purse, next to the refrigerator and pantry
I find that my cravings aren't necessarily about the food as much as needing a different taste/flavor in my mouth!...hmmm, I think I will go get a piece right now! lol

I do too! Well maybe I haven't beat my cravings after all. Maybe it has been the gum. Originally I bought gum to freshen my breath after eating at work. I find myself popping a piece in several times each day.
Maybe that is why I have been constantly hungry for the last week. My gum is too strong so I haven't been using it as often.
Grrr
, I'm not as strong as I thought I was....but Yay for gum
Dieting is like religion. There are the basic rules that everyone should follow. The rest you personalize to a lifestyle for the best results.

try the mint chocolate chip ice cream flavor from Extra...it is a very mild and creamy flavor! I have a hard time with the intensely strong gum flavors too! This one is my FAVORITE!

For me it's Water! I have never liked to drink water. My body tries to trick me into drinking more by craving salty foods and sweets! I have found by increasing my water intake, my cravings have almost diminished and after that I will pop a piece of gum...
Baby steps...

There are two things that I have been doing. The first is to not label anything as a "cheat." Its a choice so if I MUST have something, I measure it out and then put the bag away. I eat each one very slowly (chocolate chips were the recent offender.) I think about how much I am enjoying the flavor and try not to inhale whatever it is I am craving. When I am done, I let it go. After all, it was a choice, not a cheat so I don't need to feel guilty.
The second thing that really works for me is just really keeping the water intake up. I find that I am almost always so full that I don't really have a lot of cravings. I hope this helps.
You can do it!

I have started taking multi-vitamins which seems to have dramatically decreased my food cravings. When I was pregnant with my youngest I had the strongest cravings for red meat. It didn't matter if it was a steak, burger, whatever it had to be meat. Before I got pregnant I had given up red meat for 6 years and did not take vitamin supplements to replace any nutrients i may have been missing. Taking vitamins has also curbed my appetite for some reason.

I think that some of us are foraging for nutrients because we aren't getting all the right nutrients. I bet vitamins can help us decrease our cravings. Good for you! Keep it up!

Hey, thanks for suggesting gum to fend off cravings. I don't usually chew gum, but I have twice this week and it worked! How simple! Why didn't I think of that?
