I got to stand up at my "50 Days of Fitness" ceremony yesterday as the "biggest loser!" There were points awarded each week for exercise, water consumed, food logged, etc. I felt that the point system was little bit unfair of a measure because people perceive things a bit differently. But...the proof is in the 60 calorie sugar free pudding (haha).
So allow me clear my throat (ahem) and give my academy award winning speech:
Fat Secret has been an amazing tool for me over the 50 day journey. My food diary has changed my life and I love it. Some people play Farmville, I play Food Log and obviously I'm winning (if I do say so myself)!
So mostly I've been a lurker over the last couple months but I’ve really enjoyed reading your posts and using your recipes. I’ve felt I had a whole community in my corner here and that has been invaluable! Please know that even though some of us are quiet, we’re here - and you’re making major impact in our lives by sharing. I hope to be like you when I grow up some day!
As for sharing something myself? To keep this relatively short – I’d just say give in 100% to the healthy voice inside of you. Don’t hesitate. Become a crazy fitness addict. I’m constantly looking for ways to burn calories from dancing in my car (carefully) to parking as far as I can from any given destination. I’ve also joined Curves which I adore and am working my body in ways I’ve never done before. Obviously remember you’ve got to ease in, so always be cautious about what you’re doing to your body – but there are hundreds of free resources out there. I’m doing circuit training in my garage w/ just a pair of dumbbells and a jump rope. I’ve found tons of great exercises on youtube. As far as food? I’ve been looking for that pill all my life that will make it so that my body simply looks like I want it to. What I’ve found though is that it’s just about as simple, calorie input vs. calorie output. I’m consuming a healthy amount of carbs, proteins and fats a day. That’s all I’m doing and the fat is melting away. Ok…I’m ready for the next 50! Oh…and of course I’ve got to share my loss:
Starting Weight: 230.8
Ending Weight: 210.8
-1inch in the arms
-1inch in the thighs
-8inches in the hip!!!!
-2inches in the waist

Excellent! Congratulations! And you are so right about the quiet ones reading and being encouraged.
Keep up the good work!

Congratulations, Sirms. You've come a long way. Did being in the competition help? How will you keep yourself motivated now that the race against others is over?

Job well done!
