Calories Burned while "sucking in" your stomach?

I believe that squeezing your abs or sucking in while you're sitting, standing, walking (just going about your day) makes some kind of difference. For some reason, I have a vague memory that a minute of ab squeezing is approximately equivalent to 10 crunches. Can anybody confirm that? I'd like to know about how many calories this burns.

I don't know ANY of the technical stats on this....but gonna share my personal experience. I did the "suck in your tummy" challenge. And I DO have to say....I REALLY notice the difference. I've done more than my share of losing and gaining threw the years....and am determined this is IT this time. Well now I'm down 15 pounds.,.and I have to say thanks to THAT challenge....I REALLY notice it in my waist!!!!
Finally I feel hope of getting my waist back in shape.....FINALLY going to lose that baby weight.....well okay my "baby" is 16 years old.....but HEY it's never to late!!!
Like I said don't know WHAT it exactly does....but it seems YES sucking in works!!!!! Smile

DISCLAIMER: I expect to lose this weight over the next 6 months to 5 years. I'm not going to feel like a failure if it takes an entire month to lose 1 pound. I'm going to feel like a success when that happens! I may offer advice that I'm currently not taking myself. Feel free to call me on that!

I tend to have lower back problems, so I can really tell the difference that it makes with posture. I'll try to do some more research into this and post if I find anything interesting. Thanks for the feedback!

I shall ask my Physical Therapist when I see him this afternoon.. it is a first visit.. I figure why wait to bring on the crazy. Lol! Ceebee... Love to be there to see his reaction... let me know what he says. I have done it for 1 minute , twice today. You can feel the burn like you have done a few crunches... I googled it and from what I saw... 10 crunches only equals 1 burned calorie. Seems like it would be more though

I too have been doing the gut suck and I must say I think it totally works!! I am also working out and eating better, but for some reason I feel like sucking in my gut when ever I think about it is really helping!

Well everyone I think I am going to try to gut sucking. Like when I'm in bed or driving. Ill start tomorrow im going to record my waist mesurements and see what happends in a few weeks.

My personal trainer stresses to me... squeeze the shoulders back and work the abs whenever I'm walking, that will make a huge difference if you get into the habit.
