Around 2:30-3:00 pm I start to crave a snack. I don't know if it is because I am hungry or just need a pick-me-up. I keep an orange or tangerine in my fridge at work, slice it in half and eat it slowly. It takes care of the crave and vitamin C is a plus!

I do the exact same thing with school. I am in college and will be on campus for long periods of time and oranges are one of my favorite snacks.

I prefer apples.
Natural pectin and higher fiber makes it digest slower and keeps you feeling full longer.
Lower sugar content so it doesn't spike your insulin making you feel hungry an hour later.
You don't have to peel it. No mess or sticky fingers.
Many varieties of apples that have different flavours and textures. Have a different apple each day of the week !
If it's vitamin C your concerned about: Did you know...
1 medium size orange has about 70mg of vitamin C. A 1/2 cup of raw, chopped red pepper provides approximately 95mg of vitamin C.

I've been making sure I get a substantive snack (200-300 calories) each afternoon about 3-4pm and it's working well for me. It's great for managing my appetite, gives me energy to get a workout in after work and makes me less likely to go into dinner starved (which is the perfect scenario for overeating!). Eating every 4 hours also keeps your insulin levels stable, which also helps with weight loss.
PeeFat, a sliced apple with a tablespoon of peanut butter is one of my favorite snacks
The combination of that pectin and fiber with some healthy fat works wonders!

I eat every 3 hours. I like some chopped up apple in 1% fat cottage cheese, or some apple and natural almonds or walnuts. I try to get a little protein with every snack or meal in one way or another.
I worked a few 12 hour shifts last week. I was eating 8 times each day and lost 1 lb last week !!! Go figure...

-2.4 lbs in one day
Yeah but it feels so good to look at the scale and see that kind of loss. I have kept it off so it could not have been water weight.
