So the last time I tried to run I couldn't even make it a half a lap (I found out today 4 laps is a mile). I've been doing some work out videos and walking an hour during the week after dropping off my son at school. I got some new running shoes over the weekend, so I this morning I thought, "What the heck, let's see what they can do." I ran a whole lap without stopping! Not only was I impressed with the fact I ran a whole lap without stopping, and probably could have run more, but it was like running on air. Didn't hurt my feet at all. I love my ugly running shoes Smile

Woohoo! Good for you. You might want to look into some run/walk programs, as they will help you increase your stamina without the risk of injury if you are going too fast. Run/walk intervals are also a good, fast way to burn calories. If you go to www.runnersworld.com, you might be able to find some good beginners programs. They have some really good information on there. You'll be running 5K's in no time! Keep up the hard work, good job! Smile

Thanks! I looked at the Couch to 5K program today. I might try that. I ran again a few days after that and did a mile of jogging/walking. I know I could go further than I do, but I have a hard time making myself. I'll check out that site, though. Thanks Smile

Let's face it, we are all differnt. It really doesn't make any difference, just as long as exercise. Let's all learn to listen to our own bodies, and what is right for us, not some one else.
