Since this book was recently published, I'm having a hard time finding information for dining out. In the book, there are "belly good" fast food items listed, but what do I do about dining out in restaurants with family? If I know the restaurant ahead of time, I can plan ahead, as long as I know the sugar & carb info from the menu. I'm having a hard time finding this, however. Any suggestions?

We can of course look at your diet, but you want to post what the diet involves when you post so we can better help you and give good advice.
It sounds like you're cutting carbs(and/or just bad carbs), so basic rule of thumb is to order a meat and then just get all vegetables for your sides(not potatoes obviously). If you get a salad, go with oil & vinegar or a light dressing on the side.
Remember, any decent restaurant will cater to your needs. If they have some fish or meat stuffed with breadcrumbs and crab, then ask them to skip the filling or the breadcrumbs. Skip the alfredo sauce at Italian restuarants.
Basic rule of thumb: meat and vegetables. I will eat lean meat most of the time, so I usually eat steak when we go out.

Be very careful of chain restaurants. They tend to serve you ENORMOUS portions. Most chain restaurants DO publish their nutritional information online. Definitely avoid the ones that do not (Cheesecake factory, Claim Jumper)
Local restaurants will be harder, but they should be very open to describing how a dish is prepared so that you can determine the approximate nutritional value and treat it like you would a meal at home.
