So,unlike the atkins diet, you don't consume vegetables the first part of the Dukan diet?Never heard about this diet before,is this new?

I started Dukan on 3 Jan and am down 13 lbs. so far. I have strong cravings for sugar and carbs from time to time but I chew gum or drink a sugar free soda to help curb the cravings. I've tried NutraSystem and Weight Watchers in the past and never had much success - usually averaged about 1 lb a month on those. The Dukan Diet is not for people who can't resist cravings and urges!! For me, the results speak for themselves. That's what keeps me motivated and on track. The first two phases are very restrictive as far as what you can and can't eat but it WORKS. Lastly, make sure you eat your Oat Bran EVERY DAY like the diet says!!

I'm reading this while eating some absolutely delightful fresh melon for breakfast. If the melon isn't soft enough on its own you could add it to a fruit smoothie.
