What is up with the groups?

Is there a phobia against the groups? I've joined a couple and there are some posts in them, mostly days old, and precious few have any replies. The one I joined had a lot of posts that were just complaints about the lack of activity in the group. Confused What's the consensus on groups in general?

I've noticed the same thing. I guess "life" gets in the way for many folks and they don't think about checking their "my groups" section.

I don't find them very user friendly, to be honest, just in the way they're configured. If it was easier to see at a glance which threads have had new posts added, I'd probably be more inclined to post on them myself. =/

Beats me. When I first joined FS they encouraged buddies, groups and challenges. But not much happens on the group front and after a while I forgot to go there. Wouldn't they be better as forum topics, more or less?

I am guilty of forgetting about my groups too. It would be much easier if there were Facebook-style notifications to let you know where there's activity on stuff you've commented on. The "me" feed kind of does this...but not really.

The workflow for groups isn't very user-friendly. They don't show up in the user interface in the same way that forums do, and you really have to go out of your way to remember that they're there. I joined a couple way back when, and I've since forgotten about them.

The forums workflow isn't fabulous, but it's not abysmal either.

I feel the same. There just seems to be very little group and/forum activity at least in the ones I am joining and posting to. There also doesn't seem to be an alert system so I think people dont know when they get members, posts and replies. When I make forum posts there are no responses generally so I just figure my responses are boring and eventually delete them. Smile

Ive joined a few groups and gotten a few replies. It seems I just found a few individuals who are very open to chatting and they respond so I respond back. Some peeps ask for buddys but never reply. I just look around and respond to what catches my attention whether its in my group or not. LOL!

They could definitely do a better job with groups. I use Fatsecret mostly to keep a record of my weight (even though it doesn't change much). I'd like to use it to keep track of food, but I've never managed to be diligent about making all the entries needed to make that useful.

Boring?Shock Never!!!!Exclamation I'll respond whenever I know you're talking to me! Cool

Seriously, I've gotten better results by keeping up with progress and commenting to people on my buddy list.
