Fun is part of positive thoughts, DairyKing, so go at it.
Rest assured, though, that this DOES work, whether it seems silly or not. I'm still not comfortable doing it, but I see results from doing it. I went from wanting snacks constantly to not caring about them at all. This, along with the rest of the McKenna diet dvds have brought me on track, and then some.
Of course, this doesn't change the fact that anyone will look silly doing it.

They made me do it, Keld. They're crazy.
I think there is some merit to it. The guy is a phychiatrist. He says it's not a distraction, but I think it's kind of a play on words - even hypnosis is a kind of distraction, and that is what he specializes in. He says eat when you're hungry and stop when you're full. That's just fundamental to weight loss. I think it's kind of like the pressure point you push in your palm to get rid of a headache; I don't understand it, but sometimes it works.

Tapping, or EFT, is a very popular method for reinforcing positive change and eliminating negative feelings and habits. I have friends who swear by it. Never tried it myself, but I'm starting to think pretty seriously about it. =)

Great Keld, thanks for sharing. I think it does look silly but so do most of our workouts, (when we are just watching others do it and not working out huh? )
I like Fer and CJT's explanation of EFT, makes more sense!
I'll give it a try.

I can't watch the video so I googled EFT and found this. It's very informative and worth a try!

This is so great, I have been having killer cravings for everything all day, did this, and they are gone! Exactly what I needed!

I am also sitting here thinking about all the four steps, and how despite the fact they are painfully obvious I don't do them at all. And when I think about how my naturally thin husband eats, it is exactly like this. He eats whenever he is hungry, eats mindfully, eats whatever he wants, and stops when he is done (he can even stop eating a cheeseburger and his french fries half way through) It is interesting to think about!

LovingMomma - It's so provoking, isn't it? Once we see it set up like this, it's SO obvious, such a "duh" moment. But when we think about it, it's not what we do. It's what we SHOULD be doing.
Lately, I've worked hard on doing it, and it's working. I feel that I have totally regained control the last week. I stopped mid way in my lunch today, I was done eating, full and satisfied and had no urge to continue. WTH?

This may be just what I've needed to get back on track....I had fallen off the wagon a while back and been struggling lately to get back on it, coming close but typically giving in to binging on chips and peanut butter as of late. Will definitely try this during my next weak moment.

I'm a little behind on this post but read it all and laughed!!! I would like to add that several years ago when I was unable to stop neck pain due to desk job that I joined a yoga group. I signed up for a year and then realized it was Dahn Hak Yoga. Each class began with tapping. Tapping the areas where you are experiencing pain and also your liver, stomach and kidneys. Also rubbing your intestines in a clockwise direction. I can't see your You Tube at work but can't wait to view when I get home.
Oh yeah. The tapping and yoga did wonders for my neck pain.

Just to say that I used the 'tap' system to release other issues that were blocking me and it did work. Its not magic or weird; it's similar to NLP and is just one system of unblocking trapped energy.
Its worth a try.....
