I just tried Vitamin Water Zero. It tastes good and it doesn't have any calories in it. Too good to be true or is it as healthy as it seems?

what is your definition of healthy?
healthy is a lucrative term and is often mistaken for low-calorie or low-fat. it can also be portrayed as something that helps you lose weight, which there are no foods or drinks that either good nor bad for weightloss with the exceptions of those that contain synthetic Trans fatty acids.
so help us, help you by being more specific in your question because as we sit now no one can answer this question

I love vitamin water zero. I especially love that it has stevia instead of artificial sweeteners. I wouldn't call VWZ "healthy" it's just not unhealthy. Smile They really don't have electrolytes (sodium, and potassium) and the vitamins they have are pretty negligible.

I consider these a great alternative when I'm sick of water and just want a cold sweet drink.

Eeh I feel like products like that aren't the best. But it's better to reach for that than soda when you're bored of water.

Why not simply drink water? It's just a matter of habit. Smile

I think the OP answered that in the original post - s/he likes the way it tastes. Which is a perfectly fine reason.

It has no calories, some trace vitamins, minerals and electrolytes, and there's no evidence of adverse health effects from any of the ingredients, even if you consume several bottles of it each day.

As long as the OP doesn't mind the cost, s/he shouldn't worry about it. The OP is a lot more likely to get hit by a car going to the store to get it, than s/he is to realize any adverse effects from the drink itself.

I agree with Nimm...whatever floats your boat, so to speak...but, I'm totally surprised how easy it has become for me to drink at least 2 liters of water every single day, sometimes 3 or 4...and I don't have to pay for it...well, unless you count my monthly water bill, lol Wink

The negatives: if you drink a lot of them you may become accustomed to the taste and not want to drink water as much. I have always been a water drinker even as a child. I went through a crystal light and sugar free hawaiin punch phase and found that I didn't like water as much after drinking so much of the flavored stuff. The only other negative is the artificial sweetener even if it is stevia - not that I am against the use of them, just if you drink 4 bottles of vitamin water that might be excessive on the stevia. (I use artificial sweetener in coffee/tea, so I personally don't want more exposure my having it in my water). The expense would be a negative for me too!! Enjoy~

I love this stuff. I tend to drink a good deal of water while at work (about 1.5 liters on avg). When I get home, I drink one final glass of water, then all bets are off. I drink VWZ the rest of the night, even with dinner. Not that I drink a lot of it, but I'd run through a bottle a night, I'd say. As close to guilt-free as I can get with a beverage.

I drink at least 8 bottles of water a day...some of those bottles of I water I make up lemon/cucumber water in a pitch and when I want something different I just put it in the bottle. Sometimes crystal light packets help me.

Just to be clear, Vitamin Zero water does have calories, about 10 to be precise. Anything with less than 5 calories per serving can be marked as Zero Calorie.

The math... Each flavor has between 0 and "<1" grams of sugar, and 2 - 7 grams of carbs (the sugar alcohols which aren't exactly 0 calorie either). If you make some logical assumptions you'll find that each serving probably has 1-3 calories depending on flavor. So, it get's marked as Zero calorie...

Now, back to that 2.5 servings per bottle. Your probably looking at 3-10 calories per bottle depending on the flavor.

Still a lot better than a sugary drink, but if you're drinking 15 bottles a week, it could make a difference. It's ALWAYS healthier to just condition yourself to drink water...
