Eat six small low-fat meals a day, and you are never hungry. It keeps your metabolism burning fat, so you lose weight.

There are 5 people in my office alone on this since May 1, and everyone is doing great. We are learning how to make better food choices, eat healthy portions, and that exercise is a must. We are changing our thinking about food, and learning about nutrition.

I have lost 27 lbs in two months, and am now at my goal. One of my co-workers lost 35 lbs in 6 weeks, and her blood pressure was down, her blood sugar has normalized and her cholesterol was down. Not bad for 6 weeks.

I guess what bothers me about it is that you can't stay on it forever, so what happens when you have to go back to making or getting your own food?
I'm sure it works for weight loss but I wonder about keeping it off.

Ya, i think it is right. Weight loss is to change our lifestyle, choosing our own healthy food..

I'm sorry pamaitchison, but you sound like a Medifast Coach who is using this site as a business opportunity to generate revenue for this company.

Your previous and only other post is titled "Fast, Easy, Healthy Weight loss with Medifast plan". Medifast is a multilevel pyramid set-up, and it is in pamaitchison's best interest to offload product quickly as they have invested in a health coach career package - and it's pricey!

Be wary of Medifast - here's a SITE outlining their practices, and their aggressive recruitement pitches to sign-up new members in order to sell start-up packages.

I'm on Medifast and I do not agree with the "Spamming" at all. To reply to K8Yk, what happens is this program is a tool just like the rest, its up to the person to keep it off. They have a maintenance plan to ease you back to regular eating, not to mention that you eat a lean and green meal for dinner which helps you to already have a variety of dinners in you head. It is just really up to the individual and what they have learned throughout the plan. For someone like me who started at almost 400 pounds, it would take alot from me to keep the weight off, not medifast. So I have taken this time to learn more about foods and exercise rather than rely on Medifast to drop me down to my goal weigh with no knowledge.

But Spamming is a serious no no.

lovergirl654 - pamaitchison is asking people to either "Join our Take Shape for Life with Medifast group for more info" - the 'Take Shape for Life' program is where Medifast Coaches recruit and coach clients, earning commissions based on their client's purchases.

pamaitchison is here to sell product. This is much different than someone mentioning that this diet plan had helped them - this here is a true sales pitch.

Take Shape for Life Income Opportunity - this outlines how to promote the 'Take Shape for Life' plan.

It's a business, and I feel uneasy that it is being marketed here through an FS member.

I agree. I said that I do not condone spamming like that at all. Makes the overall company look bad...not to mention give a bad name to a good thing.

She/he posted on the "promote your diet" board. To me, this is a place to... well, promote your diet. Well done.

I know someone who had major success on Medifast, both in losing the weight quickly and in keeping it off for years. There are several reasons that I couldn't do it though.

1) no vegan options, as far as I could tell

2) expensive! I'd rather just eat less and move more without paying $$$ every month for special food

3) I don't think that I could stick to it in the long run. I like real food too much, and the one "real" meal a day wouldn't keep me satisfied.

But that's just me, there are plenty of Medifast success stories out there!
mini goals:
170 - 50 pounds gone! (reached October 2, 2010)
155 - no longer overweight! (reached January 22, 2011)
145 - 75 Pounds gone! (reached May 14, 2011)
135 - ultimate goal weight!

Follow up...The Take Shape for Life group I was asking you to join is just a forum and only on FAT SECRET, and is for people already on Medifast (or wanting to learn about it).
There is NO REFERRAL to the company, and its only to share ideas, recipes, challenges, ask questions, etc. The group does not sell anything, or direct you to anyone or anything. A previous comment from one person, told you it was spam and some of you jumped on the band-wagon.

Its no different than the groups on Fat Secret for Weight Watchers, Atkins, South Beach, or the like. Are those groups spamming and trying to sell you something? I don't think so.

Yeah, I'm thinking this is a peddler. She has been a member since Mar 2009, and has no weight stats, no weight history, no goals...

Just for your info, I have always kept my weight private because I share my computer with others. If you read my post I said I lost 27 lbs, and am now at my goal. Its not fair to make assumptions.

This is my last post as it's not fun to interact with so many mean-spirited people. I volunteer during the school year and now that school is out I had some extra time and tried an experiment to join some forums. What a mistake that turned out to be.

I will keep using Fat Secret just as I used to ... privately. Good-bye, and good luck to all.
