A *seemingly* unimportant victory......

Today, after I got out of the shower, I wrapped my towel around my body. Suddenly, I noticed... I wrapped my towel all the way around my body!

For the first time, the towel actually closes all the way around me, without that embarrassing slit/gap around the thigh area. HURRAY! That was just what I needed to see today.

Oh, and to make this actually seem like a forum post, rather than a *~*Dear Diary*~*, what are some of the 'little' perks you've noticed since you began losing weight? I am also happily under my computer chair's max weight limit--haha!

awesome! I have noticed belt loop holes ... going by one by one ... to the point where i need a new belt.

the whole pants and shirts shrinking sizes, while awesome, is getting a bit pricey. gonna wait a year before i do jeans again ... unless they just fall off ... then i suppose i will have to do something.

congrats to you!

Great job! My daughter hugged me the other day and said "Daddy I can put my arms all the way around you now" that was a great feeling.

I have a leather belt that has unlimited loop holes so I also like to see how much extra leather is around my waist. I guess I need to get a new one soon. Smile

Keep up the great work.

Oh my! I'm glad you posted this. I too think of all the little milestones I'd hit when I was in my weight loss phase. I remember this, but never think to mention it when someone asks! Smile crossing my legs was a big one.

Regarding the need for smaller sized clothes:
Here in Denmark, there are some very good thrift stores. What they sell it really nice clothes, and not at all what you might expect. Actually, it seems to me that the ones who donate clothes here, are also the ones who can afford to buy clothes often. This means quality clothes in the thrift store. Win! A pair of jeans in Denmark can go as high as 600 kroner (about 100 dollars). At the thrift store I pay 35 kroner for something that seems totally unusued. Win! Smile

I can relate to the towel thing - especially those ones you get in some hotels - more like face flannel size and didn't even cover the "important" bits Smile. There are other perks.
1. Plane seats are comfortable.
2. Lots of room in the bath.
3. Being able to sit in a chair, without the fear of breaking it.
4. Don't need so much body lotion, as there's "less of you".
5. Going into 'fashion' shops and knowing stuff is going to fit you.
6. No chaffing under your bra.
7. Being able to put swimwear on, without feeling embarassed.
8. Having more energy.
9. Feeling comfortable, when sitting, standing.
10. Not getting out of breath when going up stairs.

Brilliant posts. I was thinking this the other day. My milestone is when I need to go pee (sorry TMI) I don't need to undo my belt, button and zip on my jeans I can actually pull them down!! I know I need a new pair of jeans but I don't want to spend any money yet lol.
Great stories everyone, I could relate to a lot of them.

That is awesome!! I think we tend to focus so much on not losing weight fast enough that we miss the small victories that should be celebrated!

I found I can't run on the tradmill wearing a certain pair of workout pants as they start falling off! Or walk up stairs wearing my jeans because they start falling down too!

Great victories everyone! Congrats to all!!This is a great post, I too found all of these perks while losing the weight. Crossing my legs was a big one, I think that I forgot just how nice it was to sit and cross my legs comfortably. The clothes got a bit pricey, I keep a bag in my closet because I was losing so much weight that the BIG clothes were going in the bag so often. We also have a great thrift store here which was a bonus for me. I dont mind the great second hand jeans and shorts. When needing clothes that fit so often it was a great place to shop. And donate all of the clothes that no longer fit! Great job everyone, love this post

The towel, belt, and bath triumphs are all AWESOME. Plus, being able to wear kneehigh boots with pants UNDER them, and having to take a link off my watch strap (and it still being loose!).

The towel thing was a big one for me too. As was being able to sit with my legs (not just ankles) crossed. I seriously was distracted in a staff meeting for nearly 20 minutes marveling at the fact I could cross my knees without feeling like a fool. Sure it's horrible for your back, but it is my victory! I'm not sure this is the exact right place for this, but this morning, my 13-year-old cat jumped from the perch in front of the window to the leg support (heaven knows what it's really called) of my recliner.

He does this often, so if I see him getting ready to jump, I spread my legs so that he has a big place to land.

He did this again this morning and almost tipped me forward - the force of his landing has NEVER been able to move me before today. So I guess that is kind of a victory. ~grin~
