Does muscle really weigh more then fat? When should one stop fixating on the numbers on the scale and concentrate on inches lost?
Is it possible when my weight did drop what it was actually muscle that I was losing due to poor eating.
I am just so discouraged by the numbers on the scale right now!
Please help ! I know someone has some words of wisdom and all comments or suggestions would be gratefully appreciated! Thank you!

Yes, muscle weighs more than fat that takes up the same area - it's denser. You don't lose muscle with poor eating habits - you lose it by not using it, so to speak. Do you do resistance training? I highly recommend it if you don't.
Man who say it cannot be done should not interrupt man doing it

Sheryl is right - muscle is denser. Saying it weighs more then fat isn't neccessarily the best way to say it, because 1 pound is 1 pound. But it'll take up less space. I read an article recently that most women doing serious weight training can't build more than 1 pound of muscle per month. So when people gain and say "it's probably just muscle", it's probably not. But, there is a good chance it could be excess water that your msucles are temporarily storing. You can lose muscle pretty easily if you are eating at a significant calorie deficit and only doing cardio, though. As to your question when to stop worrying about the scale and focus on inches, I would say that should always be the case, but its much easier said then done. Just keep at it!
