Has anybody had success doing the Kettlebell or Zumba program? I have it and the Zumba but have not tried either. I am 5'10" and weigh in at 218lbs right now. Any tips for a beginner?

I love Zumba! I do it at least 3 times a week. For me Zumba is a workout that I look forward to and never get tired of. There are days that I just don't feel like going to the gym but I know I need to get a workout in so Zumba it is. It is fun and makes me break a sweat every time. I will say Zumba alone may not give you all the success you want. It is important to follow a balance diet and other forms of workouts such as high intensity interval training and weights from time to time too. Don't know enough about kettleball to comment on that. Take it one day at a time and if you have a set back don't beat yourself up about. Brush it off and get RIGHT back on track asap. Good Luck.

I love Zumba!!! I am about your height and a little under your weight and doing zumba has really slimmed my stomach down. It is a full core workout! Kettle bell helps your thighs, flabby arms, as well as back fat!!! Both awesome things to work on! Good luck keep with it. And take alot of fish oil for the muscle pain you will be in. Its hard but so so worth it!

I don't really know what "programs" you are referring too, but I do Zumba at the group exercise classes at my gym, and I own a kettlebell, and I love them both!! As far as the kettlebell goes (and all weight/strength training exercises), form is really important, so be sure that you're doing it correctly so that you don't get hurt. Other than that, get after it!! They are both super fun and very effective exercises. I agree with the other posters that you just have to stick with it!! You will more than likely get some muscle soreness, but as soon as you get past it, you will LOVE it!
Someone who is busier than you is working out right now.
There will come a day when you can no longer do this. Today is
not
that day.

I've had awsome success with ZUMBA. I bet my waistline decreased by at least 3 inches in 2 months. Depending upon how much energy you put into it, you can burn up to 800 calories during 1 hour of ZUMBA. Zumba is so fun you dont even really feel like you are working out. It's more like a dance party! I highly recommend ZUMBA to anyone. It's great for beginners because you can "go at your own pace". There is no pressure to do the moves perfectly- just keep your body moving and have a great time!
As for kettle bell work outs- I wouldnt recommend it for a beginner. If you are a beginner, start out with something like ZUMBA, and when you feel like you need more challenge, then maybe add some kettle bell once or twice a wk. Kettle bell is a great work out, and also really torches the calories, but it is a more advanced form of exercise. I just wouldnt recommend starting off with kettle bell work outs if you are a beginner.

I have a kettlebell and the Absolute beginners kettlebell 3-in-1 video and I think it's really fun. and I can feel a work out. I also read some of Pavel's enter the kettlebell which was just a fascinating read. I'd recommend trying it.
To freely bloom - that is my definition of success.

I love Zumba! I go to a studio 3 times a week. It really helps to feed off the energy of the people in a class. It definitely makes me work harder. It is a great cardio and core workout. Depending on your instructor, you won't get too much of an upper body workout in Zumba. I also workout with weights. Zumba and a healthy diet has slimmed my waistline and reduced my mommy tummy after having three babies! I have the DVDs at home, too. It's a great way to learn the steps and get used to the dance steps. If you look for a class, try out different ones. Instructors can by vastly different from one another. Have fun!

I do zumba and I love it! I have the video game for the kinect and I love it. Since I have it at home I try to do it everyday for at least 20 minutes. I just recently started doing it again, bt when I did it before I lost a lot of wiegth and it is tons of fun.

Best Exercises
Good decision but you should include squats also for 10-15 mins. This will help you to build your bogy and even lose weight also. Adding squats to the exercise have many other benefits also.
