Hi
I feel I have reached a plateau in my weight loss journey. I started from 206 lbs with aim of 164 lbs. I started in January this year.
For almost past one month, my weight is fluctuating in 194-198 lbs range. I would confess that this month I was not that regular as I was previously. Some pain in ankle and some busy schedule did not allow me to go to gym and swimming regularly. But I expected a slowdown in my progress rather than a complete shutdown. I have been eating the same amounts of food.
kindly put some concrete suggestions for my case. I will be very grateful.

i will offer that you could eat more calories and up your protein. i took a look at your diet calendar and it looks like you are eating very little ... and certainly could add some protein to up your calories ... i don't know by how much ... but i would guess the RDI you are shooting for is a higher than the 1500 - 1800 calories i see in your food journal. i eat anywhere from 1800 - 2600, and i am 158 lbs ... as long as i maintain my activity level, i can usually lose a little in a regular fashion.

I had a plateau for over 2.5 months. I gained and lost the same .2 pounds about 10 times. It was pretty miserable. The one thing that kept me sane was that I have a body fat analyzer and I took my measurements when I first started. During my plateau, I was still losing body fat and inches. I agree with br_e_co's advice to you. However, I also recommend that you use an alternate method to gauge your fat loss.
Good luck getting through your plateau. Don't quit, you can do it.

@Losin25 ... big congrats to reaching your goal weight! And you are right, losing doesn't necessarily mean losing weight ... it could be body recomposition. Good advice on the body fat analyzer. I use good ole measuring tape.

Everyone hits plateaus and they can be very depressing. Hang in there. I agree with the poster who said to up your calorie intake. If your body feels like it is in starvation mode, your metabolism slows down to preserve your life. Alternatively, sometimes just doing something radically different for a week can shake your body up into losing again -- something like really changing up what you eat say if you eat mostly carbs, try mostly proteins and cut most carbs or if you regularly walk in the morning, try swimming instead and do it a different time of day. Or eat nothing but cereal & milk for a day. You get the idea...Hope your plateau breaks soon!
