Hi everyone,
Merry Christmas everyone...
I'm Dee, original Danish but living in Alabama...
I have decided to start SB diet, however I know its a bad month to start in with Christmas being up over.
So I'm starting December 25th, since we celebrate Christmas on the 24th.
Hoping I can stick to the diet and hope that there are people out there to motivate me...
Be safe all, and merry Christmas.

Good luck to you! I restarted South Beach diet Monday and am already seeing the scale go down. It really is an awesome solution that has given me so much hope (and results!)

Hi Fidgekitty,
I'm not sure it was vice of us to start so close to Christmas, but I'm starting because I'm telling myself its a Christmas gift, so for me to use it. But I worry about the first two weeks... How is yours going?

The first two weeks really highlighted to me how much sugar I was consuming because at about day 3, I got wicked headaches and felt extremely blah. So, fair warning! That feeling will go away in a couple of days and you'll feel fantastic.
It's only two weeks and it really does break your sugar/carb cycle. There are a lot of people who are tempted to do phase one for longer than two weeks, but I don't recommend it. Your body still needs fruits and grains, and as long as you're eating good, whole foods, you will see results.
Merry Christmas!

So far it's going great for me, the first few days to first week are the hardest, you get over this cravings hump and then things are much easier, you don't realize how addicted you are to junk til you cut it all out. The first time I did SB, phase 1 was torture lol. I lost about 15 pounds before I fell off track a bit, gained 5 pounds back, then thanksgiving hit and gained 4 more pounds (9 total) and now I've lost 4 (which leads me to believe that a bit was water weight). This time around it's been almost effortless to be on phase one, I'm thinking about extending it a few weeks to compensate for the holiday season coming up. I though about starting off SB again after Christmas but then I thought "if I start it now, I could lose 3-5 pounds before the new year hits and be that much closer to my goal, that much sooner." It's also helping my self esteem a lot, I feel better being proactive about my weight, the hardest part is to not look at my over all number and be overwhelmed by it, so the mini goal concept helps a lot.
