I am 55 years old and I did atkins when I was in my 30's and lost a lot of weight but unfortunatly I put it back on and I started back here at atkins 4 weeks ago and I have lost 10 pounds. It is not coming off very fast this time bt I am determined to make it work this time and keep it off. I need to lose at leats 60 pounds and am looking for all the advice and encouragment I can get.

Hi Marcia!
I am 53 and have been off and on every diet out there. Including Atkins in my teens, when I didn't need it but thought I did. I just started it again today. Need to lose about 75 pounds now.
I think 10 lbs in a month is great! Are you still on induction or have you added a few things back in?

Hi Marcia adn Kim! I am also back to Atkins. I have lots of weight to lose, and this time I am going to have the Atkins way of life work wonders for me. I am lucky, I have never been a real 'carb addict', but I did lots of mindless snacking at work, so I have lots of weight to take off. But I am ready, as it sounds like you both are!!! If you don't mind, I will send buddy requests, would love to share ideas, tips and tricks!
Let's do this!

Hey! I am with you too. I am not on Atkins but am following my own healthy plan that works for me. Fatsecret started me with an RDI of 2200 which I know is way to much so I have limited myself to 1800. I eat everything and just count the calories and now I am starting to watch the fat because I need to stay under 69 grams of fat. Hope this doesn't confuse you guys on Atkins - I just have a hard time staying on the plan. But it is all about being healthy and feeling beautiful right!!!! We are already beautiful - ALL of us!!! So let's keep going. I am new here but find that having an app on my iphone is making this soooo helpful.

I'm on Atkins, still in induction. The more helpful buddies the better!
I started at 207, currently at 203, and WILL get to 165.
BTW, how do I get my pix on here? New to this site.....

Hi, Marcia, I welcome any encouragement and hope I can help someone, too. I have been on Induction for 3.5 weeks, I have lost 14 lbs, and now I'm stuck. I started out at 265 and now weigh 251. My goal is 160 so I have a long journey ahead of me.

Sol4 and gmom: put your sliders on your post. It really is motivating to see that it's moving down!
gmom: stick with it, it will move again!!! 14 pounds down is wonderful! Think back to 14 pounds ago, you may not think that's a lot in the big picture, but doesn't it feel great?!! Those days/weeks go by anyway, you may as well make progress, no matter how slowly.
Sol4: How have your 4 days been going? Are you feeling better? PLEASE, for your sake, take out the words "hope" and "fail" and change them to "will" and "succeed"!! Whether you think you can or think you can't: YOU'RE RIGHT!!
