has anyone ever done insanity while on atkins? I completed the first month of insanity last year, but was not on atkins. I'm wondering if I will have enough energy with no carbs. I'm eating about 5/day. Today is day 4 and I'm okay so far

I'm actually going to start back on Power90 on Monday. Maybe we can keep tabs on how each other is doing. Insanity is a harder workout for sure than Power 90, but I have joint issues I have to be careful of. But ready to add something more than treadmill walking.

DO NOT DO ATKINS AND INSANITY TOGETHER!!! Insanity has a nutrition guide geared specifically for it, and it's a 40% carb, 40% protein, 20% fat split for a reason.

You WILL get into glycogen depletion doing Insanity, and without carbs the only way to replenish those will be by breaking down your muscles for instant sugars.

If you want the results Insanity promises, follow the directions to a T, including exactly what the Elite Nutrition Guide outlines. That's what Beachbody does with the testgroups: feeds them exactly what the meal plan says, and lets the results speak for themselves.

Shoot me a message if you have any other questions about it. I've been through Insanity on its own twice, Asylum once, and 10 rounds of P90X. I might be able to help you get where you want to go.

Hi, I am also into my first week of insanity and looking at the diet recipes they provide are a little too much for me so I'm glad to see that Derek has provided with the balance we need as I did wonder about the carbs. So from now on I will try and keep my diet to 40% Carbs, 40% protein and 20% fat.
I have to say I am loving the DVD's, they are amazing and I feel wonderful after I have done them (more so because I have just about managed to get through them)so it would be great if we could buddy up to compare notes?

Insanity is a really really hard program, but it does teach you something about yourself when you're through the workouts. You KNOW you got through a challenge every day when you're finished.

Keep up the awesome work!

While I was doing Insanity I actually had to increase my carbs. I had my friend whose a nutrition expert make me a diet plan which was very similiar to the meal plan Beachbody recommends. However, for some reason I guess I needed even MORE carbs! You need to keep in mind your body needs fuel in order to burn fat! Insanity is also so intense so definitely keep hydrated! Even if you don't feel thirsty-- drink, drink, drink! Such an amazing workout though! Beachbody puts out such amazing products.
