I have just recently started logging my food and i am only coming up with about 1000 calories a day . Is this enough to lose on atkins? It seems like i am eating huge meals but I haven't been losing . Any suggestions?

I seem to reach my carb intake with about 1100 - 1200 calories too. I try to add meat items that are high in calories and low in carbs and I have more than the 4 oz serving. I also have canned tuna with some mayo and put it on a big piece of lettuce. Or even steaks or chicken. Sausages (usually turkey or chicken) too but they always seem to have a carb or two in them. As to your question, I don't think you have a set amount of calories per day if you're getting enough nutrition and eating the right carbs and enough veggies.

You need to up your calories.I was having the same issue a few weeks in to the diet. I couldnt do enough to try and lose. Once I realized I was only getting between 800 and 1000 calories a day, I upped it immediately and by the next day started losing again. With no issues since. This is a high cal, fat, protein diet. So you need to make sure you are getting enough every day. Your numbers should go around 70% fat 20% protein and 10% carbs. I hope this helps

Your body will go into "starvation mode" if you dip too low in your calories. I know it sounds strange but you need to eat to lose even on this diet. Try eating 4-6 smaller meals through the day ...always with protein and you should be able to up your caloric intake. Keep lots of cooked lean meat in the fridge.
