Today, I am starting a new chapter in my life.
I have decided, based on my weight, my looks, my level of feel-good, that it's time to put down the calorie counter and (almost) put away the scale.
I feel that I have the experience, and the tools to simply eat healthy most of the time, and to maintain my current weight.
So for the future I will no longer count calories, I wil simply eat like I'm supposed to eat. I will simply do good most of the time.
I will eat when I'm hungry. I will eat what my body tells me that I need/want to eat. I will do this consciously and when I am satisfied/full, then I will stop.
I feel that I am in a place where I can accomplish this. Please wish me luck on my next part of the journey.
For thoses of you that I
I love you guys, and I am forever in debt to everyone here for saving my life - literally. I believe in paying it forward, and my focus on Fatsecret will be doing just that - paying it forward.
I will do my daily journal, I will read my buddies journals, I will be active in the forums, I will guide people doing the Indulgence Day Diet or calorie counting.
I can do this! Life is good!

Good luck Kingkeld.. Glad you are not leaving us - as we need to know how you get on in your surgery and how much that excess skin weighs etc, etc

Hey Buddy - today really IS a new day! I am walking into this new mindset of being free rather slowly - but I am moving in a forward direction!
I have for many years, and a WIDE variety of reasons...struggled with emotional eating. And I picked up on a key question while recently listening to P.M. - asking myself "What do I "REALLY" want?" before eating something?
Do I want to eat from hunger? Of course, if I do... then that is a most appropriate response. But my triggers typically do not coincide with hunger. What I really want.. is a hug. Or a good cry. Or to go upstairs and take a long hot shower and escape the craziness of my stressed out life!!! What I really want... is to resolve unresolved issues. To have peace in my life. So when that peace is interrupted by the wear and tear of everyday life - I far too often gave in to the stress points... and self-medicated with food.
Even low carb food.
So, I am on a journey to untangle these emotions. And to begin to get this right for me. For my 'mental' health, as well as my physical.
I also, have always known about myself, that I eat tooooo fast!!! Always the first one done at the dinner table. Always. Well, I am learning to slow it down. WAAAAAYYYYY DOWN! And actually enjoy whatever it is I choose to eat. One bite... and I refuse to move on until I have gotten every single solitary YUM out of it I can!!!
These two things alone should keep me preoccupied for awhile!!!
You got this my friend! YOU can do this! And thanks for being here and paying it forward, as you're additions to this site are helping even old timers like me!!!
Live, Love, Laugh ...make each day memorable and enjoy the journey.
