Hi A good way to really see the difference you are making to your body is to measure regularly. Make a chart of all measurements; e.g. Bust, ribs, waist, belly, hips, top of arms, top of legs, above knees and under knees. Then check measurements just once a month and keep a record of it. When you look back and see how many inches you have lost you may get a good boost. When I lost most of my weight I did this and I could not believe I lost 6inches off the tops of my arms. Sometimes the weight alone does not show the whole picture.

Great advice. I started doing this a week ago. Though I'm doing it more frequently than once a month, usually if I notice that suddenly everything is baggy again!

Agree 100%! It kills me how wrapped up in the stupid scale we all get at times and we really need to step back and look at the bigger picture. My number on the scale might not have changed recently but my jeans fit better this morning than the last time I put them on a couple weeks ago- that should be what matters!

i do this as well, only not daily...i do it every fourth day when i weight in.
i also take a photo. its amazing how on a daily basis you dont realize the results, but when comparing photos you see the difference big time!

Oooh, found this healthy desserts site:
http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2011/05/31/deep-dish-cookie-pie/
She has a low fat bean and oats version of chocolate cookie pie. Am going to try this for my craving for sweets.

Absolutely, good advice. I got out of the habit of doing this, but it's essential when the scale isn't moving but your clothes are looser. Sometimes you shrink without "weight loss".

I once lost 7" off my waist, but only 3lbs in weight- works for me!

Years ago I noticed that weeks when I plateaued or had a small gain were often weeks where my waistline would shrink noticeably and my clothes would fit differently.
This time I am measuring both my waistline and the scale. But instead of measuring my success by the scale I am going my the trouser size.

I agree. It is really nice to see how you progress. It will keep you motivated when you see those lbs you loose.
