How good is Seafood for you? Is it a better option to eat fish & seafood then meat or chicken?

And what carbs do you prefere to eat?
Potato, rice, pasta or something else?

I'm dying for tips here!

I eat mostly chicken and seafood, absolutely love any kinds of fish like salmon. Had a piece of steak last night and I'm suffering right now, I find red meat too heavy.

Favorite meal the other night, whole wheat pasta with pesto sauce and a salmon fillet. I also enjoy brown rice with either black beans or chick peas. Stay away from anything "white", the refined carbs, always go whole wheat/brown.

Eat slowly too and small portions. Record it all, it's the only way you're going to know how much you're taking in. Be honest with yourself.

I love red meat, it'll be bloody happy with. Then I try to eat fish and seafood. Salmon is so wonderfully good and useful within a certain amount. So you mean that whole grain pasta and whole grain rice is better than eating white pasta and white rice? Eat slowly I work on, so I know when I'm full. Takes me about 20-30 minutes / meal to eat, before I used to eat in 5-10 minutes and much more. do you have suggestions for any good, yet low-calorie sauce? I love cream sauce and such. Gravy-fan so it shout about it.

Red meat is high in saturated fat, skinless chicken breast is a better option. As for seafood, opt for low merchury fish and seafood such as: cod, lobster, crab, salmon and shrimp just to name a few. If seafood is not fried or drenched in butter it's usually very low in fat. Good sources of carbohydrates are the complex carbohydrates found in: some vegetables, beans, legumes, nuts, seeds, and whole grain bread, cereals and pasta. As Skong just advised you, stay away from the white carbs as much as possible. White carbs have no nutritional value and are high in calories. As for potatos, sweet potatos are the better option over white potatos. Brown or wild rice are better options than white- pretty much stay away from anything white while dieting! As for sauces and gravys, they can be very high in fat and calories unless prepared with low fat ingredients. I hope this helps you. If you have any more questions, just ask. Someone on FatSecret is always here to share our knowledge, experience, and wisdom with you. But as you will find anywhere you ask questions about dieting, whether it be on this web site or any other- every expert has a different opinion about what works and what doesnt, so you just have to use your own judgement and figure out what works best for you through trial and (gulp)...error. Good Luck!

Smile You can still eat the foods you love. Just limit them to occasionally, and watch your portion sizes. Anything is fine in moderation.
