SBD works for the entire family!
My husband was following South Beach without even paying much attention to it. I do all of the meal planning, cooking, and grocery shopping for the two of us. I followed the plan faithfully so he ate what I made for lunch and dinner all summer. He does not eat breakfast. As is often the case with men - as opposed to women - his weight dropped rapidly - especially during Phase I. Lucky guy - huh!

Your INVITED to FLIP FLOPS and LEMON DROPS!
On a positive note - I do wear flip-flops! I have several colorful pair. I also like lemon drops but I do not buy them as a treat for myself. Instead - I accept them when a hostess holds up a candy dish. Just keeping "things" upbeat. Smile! I guess many people who log onto Fat Secret "buy into" one idea or another - but in a FIGURATIVE way not a LITERAL way - as in ordering powdered drink mix! Oh well.

Your INVITED to FLIP FLOPS and LEMON DROPS!
Fat Secret is a free site. I love that fact and I appreciate it so much! I think it is so wrong to use Fat Secret as a place to promote one's business or to sell products. Members sometimes mention particular products that have been useful for them - personally - but these members do not profit directly. Just a sincere thought!

Fiber: The Diet Workhorse
Great article! I had a chef slad planned for lunch but I am getting burned out on salads. I opted for a ham sandwich made with loads of raw vegetables. The whol-wheat whole grain bread and all of that greenery was filling and delicious. Thanks for the helpful info! Love ya!

why the scale lies
This helpful article encourages me to drink my water, to continue with exercise, to weigh every day just to understand those natural ups and downs and to lay off the fluffy puddings at those smorgasbord restaurants! Ha! The article also explains why we weigh more on those days when our clothes literally HANG on us! Thanks for working as a skillful research assistant - Veggies! I'm certain that Ms Cole would be happy to know that others are learning beneficial lessons from her material.

9 Foods You Think are Healthy but Aren't
The two most insightful observations in Ms Haan's article -- for me personally -- are about diet soda and yogurt. I remember my "Tab" days which did no good nutritionally. Remember? The soda in the pink can? I also remember my "yogurt" days. No wonder i never lost poundage eating those two "foods." Thanks again!

9 Foods You Think are Healthy but Aren't
Great documentation of your source of reference! He-he-he-he-he! We do not want the Plagiarism Police Officers to come knocking on your Fat Secret door. Seriously though -- thank you for passing along the helpful information!

Thanks so much! I wanted those two groups to show up on my profile. I mistakenly thought that the "My Fat Secret" link illustrates info identical to the profile link. Thanks again!

Accepting Buddy Request
I have a buddy invitation waiting for me at my "My Fat Secret" link. There is no icon to click on to accept this invitation. Is there something the member - the one who invited me - should do to enable me to add him or her to my buddy list? Thanks!

Avoiding people when your weight is up
I think my situation is just the opposite. I am the mom of a college athlete who played three (3) sports in high school! During his high school years we were on the go with football, basketball, and baseball all the time. Yes. It is an excuse but that hectic go-go-go-ing is how I gained my weight. I ate at concession stands, drove through drive-through's at ten pm and did not make the time for exercise. When he went away to college I then had the time to exercise and focus on my own good health but I do not go to games any more. So now that I am fairly thin - after losing 44 pounds - we don't go to the football, basketball, and baseball games any more. How ironic! We should go out more often - huh! I definitely did not avoid people when my weight was up.

Veggies, veggies and more veggies. The more I eat the more I lose! I've been making lots of soup with lots of veggies and ground turkey or cubed cooked chicken.
