CHEATING!
I've found that cravings are my body's way of telling me I'm not getting enough fat. Do not be afraid of eating lots of fat on Atkins - especially during Induction. Good luck!

fatsecret is right? about carb count?
I didn't know that...when I input the Atkins bars I put sugar alcohols under "Other Carbohydrates" so maybe that's why it gets deducted. FS *should show sugar alcohol specifically though.

When you input it into your diet calendar it will automatically deduct the fiber and sugar alcohols, if you have your account set up for net carb count. It will then show 2 net carbs on your diet calendar.

I messed up again! I'm going to try again!
I tell myself that no one is forcing me to do this WOE and that does help quite a lot. It's my choice to be on Atkins and it's my choice to say "no" to foods I shouldn't eat if I want to be healthy and lose weight. Half the battle is in our minds, and once you've made yours up that this is your choice and something you *want to do, saying "no" becomes a lot easier. Especially in the beginning of this WOE, it is so important to stick to it or you will never go into ketosis and stay in it. Nothing worse than going in and out of ketosis and once you have adapted, it all gets so much easier. Less cravings, easier to say "no" to crappy foods.

messed up menstrual cycle?
Thanks for the info Shellbaby - I did what you suggested and it sounds like a lot of women - of all ages and not just of perimenopausal age - experience heavy periods and longer bleed times in the beginning of Atkins. From what I understand, when we burn the fat, the estrogen that is stored in it is released - hence periods starting for women who haven't had one in months, such as myself, and heavy periods that last a few weeks or more for younger women. Makes sense to me.

messed up menstrual cycle?
I *am perimenopausal and have been for years. I haven't had a period in months and lo and behold - I'm bleeding like a stuck pig. Today is day 5 of the little monster. A little more than a coincidence, I would say. If your bleeding doesn't stop or slow down, I would definitely call your doctor.

default diet
On the right hand side of the screen where it says My Toolbox, then click on My Diet it will take you to a page that has an option to change your diet. I'm pretty sure that's where you'd make Atkins your default diet. Hope this helps!

I just can't get into eating the morning
Pretty sure with Atkins eating breakfast is mostly about keeping ones blood sugar levels stable. Anyway, I've never liked to eat breakfast and at first I had to force myself. I feel so much better now that I eat three meals a day and sometimes snacks in between. I actually wake up and look forward to breakfast now. I do eat bacon and eggs, but if you don't like eggs - find another protein and something with some fat that will keep you feeling satisfied throughout the morning. I've done the shakes a few times, but whenever I drink those my weight loss stalls (I get kicked right out of ketosis.) If you're following the newest Atkins version, then you might add some greens or other vegetables. Good luck and just take it one step at a time. :)

HELP! My Dad is trying HCG and I need to talk him out of it
The drops are still on the market - I just saw them at my local King Soopers less than a week ago.
