Starting tomorrow
Hey there and good luck with atkins. Will power comes from within but a few words of inspiration from others certainly helps. :)

Hi I am also new and starting out
I got through the holiday period relatively unscathed although my exercise fell off a cliff. Like you, hard to stay motivated to do exercise when it's colder than cold outside. No wonder they sell so many of those infomercial weight loss and exercise products that you can use at home. Everyone is to lazy to venture out. :|

help
Love the "busy is the habit eating answer" SO TRUE
8)Keep busy, keep something in your hands at all times. A book, the computer keyboard, your iPod. Eating is a habit. If you must eat, eat celery, munch away. I keep a cucumber on hand and slice it thin and use a slice as I would a cracker. Add cheese, add a sardine, if you must, add a sweetened (artificial) cream cheese. I had my first orange today (small) after 2.5 weeks and 12 honest pounds of weight loss, and I eat to my fill. Lots of meat, lots of eggs, lots of veggies; more than the suggested "palm size" portion of meat. I had steak and eggs and a couple of slices of tomatoes for breakfast, mid morning. And that's dieting? I laugh every time I sit down to a plate full of nutricious, delicious food. Busy, busy, busy is the "habit eating answer." Good luck.
Agree, you should see someone if it is becoming a problem. Take care.

Newbie :]
Depending on which phase your on (of course!), I like eating green vegetables with cottage cheese. Even though it is not sweet it somehow gets me through alot of the sugar cravings I experience. Other than that I eat alot of lean turkey as I don't really subscribe to the hamburger/hotdog etc approach. Good luck :)

Fat-free vs. Fat full
When I read these posts I was intrigued so I took a look around and found a good mayo clinic article that shows that fat free is better only a little in terms of calories. Bit of an eye-opener around all the fuss with fat free foods if you ask me.

Losin it
How was the week, mine was only reasonable but the crazy cheating was kept to a respectable minimum. NOW FOR THE WEEKEND

So Happy
May have spoken to soon? Have been a little pent up and nervous over the last week (not even sure why) and am dreading getting on the scales -- I will though. When I get nervous I eat junk, lots of it, like twizzlers, diet coke etc. Need to pull myself out of this rutt :(

How to keep the faith
It's ok to have a crazy eating day every once in a while as long as it is every once in a while. You can't be perfect, it's impossible and if you were I'd have to imagine you'd be so highly strung and wouldn't be enjoying your day very much at all.

100 + 100 is all you need
Darn right easier said than done. I'd be lucky to get into double figures on either. I bought a skipping rope and am going to try to a few 5 minutes twice a day of jumping and try to build up. Sure helps me work up a sweat and gets my heart pumping so fast its like I'm an athlete

So Happy
It's not just that I'm losing weight, it's that I feel really positive about things at the moment that I just wanted to let everyone know....:d :d I've had my battles over the years but the addage 'think good, will be good' really does work sometimes. I'm not one for all the bllsht coming out of the motivational spruikers but what I do know if that the motivation has to come from within. It's feels good to feel good??? I really have to keep on going right through to December --- Big day coming!!! I'm calling it my field goal before my TD.

Is fresh fruit really that bad?
Hard to believe that fresh fruit is not permitted on the induction phase, just wanted to check that this was truly right.
