Hi Dan! Like you I found this website after downloading the app. I check in here everyday and journal everyday as well. One thing I found that helps is joining a challenge. And I always check out others journals and reply because I think communication is so crucial, especially during the times we feel like we can't do this alone. This website has a ton of people who will pick you up, dust you off, and give you a light push in the right direction. Good luck. I look forward to your summer 2012 pic.

New Scale?
This thread caught my eye. I'm looking for a scale too, because my scale is about 10 years old and is quirky and analog. Sometimes I think when I am not losing weight, my husband moves the needle a bit so I get a pound off. I notice it because it takes forever to lose the next pound when he decides to move it back in the middle of the week.

Buddies
Without sounding too desperate..I don't have any buddies. How does one find buddies that are going through the same thing, i.e. same type of diet, live in the same region, or can just connect to the same struggles I have with dieting. Do I just troll through this site and ask random people that I don't know to be my buddy? I asked one random person that was in a challenge with me to be my buddy and they have yet to reply. Do I have cooties? Or do most of the people on here only have buddies that are their real buddies in real life?

water diary
One of my big problems...not drinking enough water. Is there a place to record water consumption?

The year of eating healthy
I quit smoking June 23. I figure if I can do that I can change my diet. I need to lose 65 pounds or else I am going to end up with diabetes, high blood pressure, and all the other crappy diseases that go with being overweight. I used to lose weight to be skinny, now I just want to spend the last 40 years of my life healthy and not spending time at the doctors.

What do you have to be thankful for in life
Today, I'm thankful for having a good grip on conscious eating. Yesterday, I had allowed myself 3000 calories, and it was my Indulgence Day and I'm on vacation, but ended up having only had 1100 ...

weigh in
Good luck! I weigh in every day which has to stop. It is too easy to get caught up in the excitement of seeing the scale drop so much in a week-that is because of water weight I am sure.

Need suggestions on healthy/low-calorie foods.
You can use shakes for a few days. I have used the Atkins shakes and they are very good tasting. Soups are good though as stated above you may have to puree them. You could puree or blend cottage cheese ...

The rational and scientific weight loss discussion thread
I take vitamin D, a b12 supplement and a nutrient shake (vega one) rather than a multi vitamin since it was the only thing i could find that had very low vitamin A. I eat a mostly vegan diet and get tons ...

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
many say not to weigh everyday but I seem to anyway. Keeps me focused and on track. just realize that when you do your body weight does vary a bit. Don't get worked up over it.
