friends...
I have a coworker who is jealous because of the weight I've lost in the last year. I was the biggest one in our office, but since I've lost the weight, she is now the biggest. If I have an indulgence or "spike" day, she loves telling me that I'm gonna gain all my weight back "eating like that" (as if one cookie would kill my hard work!) I just reply that that cookie will disappear after my workout later. That shuts her up because she certainly won't be working out after her 2 cookies! I think some people just can't help themselves with putting others down. It is the only way to keep their own ego up. When she says you look sick or old, just tell her that you feel great and everyone else thinks so too! This should make her realize you refuse to listen to her comments, especially since she's the only one who feels that way.

Cake!! Are you kidding me?
Something that helps me to resist is, when I'm thinking about cheating, I will put it into my food diary. This helps me see just how much giving in to temptation will cost me. Especially if it will blow my calories for the day, and I wouldn't be able to eat anything else! Granted this doesn't always work, but...sometimes. Just a thought! :)

Calorie Cycling???
So, I was reading woman's world mag today, and I love reading about the diets they feature each week. Today's diet was, I think called the shred diet, and it involves calorie cycling. Supposedly it totally revamps your metabolism, and spurs the weightloss. It says to switch back and forth each day between a 1000cal day and 2000cal day. Just wondering if anyone's ever tried this, and if so, did you find success? Also, if you did try it and it worked, did it stick, or did the weight come right back after you quit? Whether it works or not, I don't want to try it if it's not going to help in the long-term. Thanks guys! :d

For women: Anyone on the Depo Shot with issues?
I only got the shot once, right after my older son was born, and I had a period for 6 weeks. I also had really bad mood swings. It was a nightmare. The only good thing I found about the depo shot was that I did not gain weight with it, unlike the pill. I gain weight every time on that. Hope your issues clear up with no problem. I've been having issues today too. My doc has had me on the pill for the last few months to try and help my pain. My period showed up today, and I still have a week of blue pills left before I start the placebos. Got a call into my dr's office to see what I need to do.

Making Turkey after 20 years, please help :/
My mother always bakes her turkey in the bag, and the turkey skin is always just right, with a little bit of crispiness--definitely not soggy! Like JustADreamer suggested, my mom only bastes it during the last half hour of cooking. Hope your turkey turns out great!

Recording my new weight and the line is a different colour
From what I can tell, red is 0-25% lost, orange is 25-50% lost, yellow is 50-75% lost and green is 75-100% lost. I think it is just one more thing you help encourage you in your weightloss journey! Great job on the orange!

Are there low-carb microwave dinners?
Thanks for the help girls! I appreciate it. I hadn't went to the store yet to look, but I knew off the top of my head, every meal I'd bought before had pasta, rice or potatoes with it, and my online search revealed the same thing. Jenkie, the freexing extra is a great idea. I just might have to try that! :)

Are there low-carb microwave dinners?
I know that microwave dinners aren't the healthiest because of the added sodium, but they are so easy for me to eat at work and stay on my diet. They are perfectly portioned, if you buy the healthy ones, and most are pretty filling. Before I switched diets, it was a simple lunch to have a microwave dinner with a piece of fruit, and I could have it easily packed in the mornings to take to work. However, since I've switched to lower carb, I haven't been able to find any that are low carb. Most have pasta, potatoes or rice in them. Are there any brands that have a low carb variety. If not, are there any dinners you know of that you can recommend for the low carb diet? Thanks! :d

High carb- Low protein and HUNGRY all the time???
Hi Hannah, I'm not a vegan, but I read your post and was wondering. Do you take a multivitamin? You mentioned weird cravings. Sometimes our bodies, when we're lacking something, will present itself as a crazy craving because that has what we're lacking. Just a thought. Hope it helps! :)

Amusement Park food
Alot of amusement parks normally have grilled chicken sandwiches and burgers. You could order that and then take the bun off. Some also offer deli sandwiches, you can follow the same concept. You should be able to look at the amusement park's website for their dining options, and then plan ahead. I don't tend to cheat if I already have my meal planned because I've thought about it long enough I'm looking forward to it! Hope you have a great time tomorrow!

Considering Switching to Low-Carb Diet
Okay, so I have read several articles lately that have said for my body type I should try going low carb. I have fought doing so for a while because I really like my carbs. However, the article I read tonight was about a John Hopkins study that stated combining low-carb with walking caused a 29% increase in fat burning versus just low-fat with walking. It gave some great tips, and said to eat no more than 1600 calories a day and a max of 70g of carbs. Then get in 20-30 minutes of moderate walking with some light toning exercises each day. The results sounded great, but probably aren't typical (60 pounds in 5 months). Even if it doesn't work that awesome, I thought it would be worth a try. However, I'm looking for some advice on what to eat/not eat. I know grains and potatoes are out. However, what about fruits and veggies? Which are good? I have heard people talk about starches, but am unsure what qualifies. Any advice is greatly appreciated. I will go grocery shopping tomorrow night to start the diet on Wednesday. Thanks so much!! :)

Ticker not showing weight lost since joining...HELP
When I changed from one diet to another, I put my start weight for the diet as my original start weight, and then put my actual weight in the next day so that I could still see my total weightloss. This was also reflected on my ticker. Hope this makes sense--I'm not the best at explaining things. :)

wii fit - does it work
I also agree with Hoser on the Wii Fit--it is more of a light workout. When I first started using it, it helped because I was, as tmhiggins said, a couch potato. However, when I hit my plateau I think it was because I had become active enough that it was no longer challenging me. I then switched to Wii Biggest Loser and am loving it! When I do the workout, I always notice a difference afterwards, and, if you put an effort into it, will work up a good sweat.

"It Works" Body Wraps -- tried them???
Hello All! So, my cousin just recently became a distributor for the "it works" products, and has convinced me to get wrapped tomorrow night. I'm really excited about it, and have heard great results from others who have tried it. However, I was wondering if anyone on FS had tried them, and, if so, what were your results? Did you need to get wrapped more than once to really see results if you're bigger? Also, if you've tried it and got results, how long did the results last? Just trying to figure what I should expect tomorrow. Thanks everyone, so glad I have ya'll for support! :)

If I were thin, I'd...
Just saw something on someone else's page that made me think of something I miss being able to do. If I were thin, I would cross my legs when I sit!! LOL Since I've gained the weight, I haven't been able to do that, only cross my ankles. I can't wait to do that again! :)
