Please peek at food calendar...
After I was getting really frustrated over constant fluctuations in my weight for about 4-5 weeks after which I ended up right where I started, I did the fat fast and dropped about 2 kg in 3 days. That was last week, and although I added back foods, I still try to consume very little calories a day (aim for 1300). And now the scale is finally starting to move (its only at the waist that I see any change, and it too is little). I guess that even on Atkins I have to limit my calories, at least for now....

weight not coming off?!
I'm from Israel and have no problem entering foods. They sell here almost everything that is on the list, some of it is the original brand name, some of it local. If they have it here, I'm sure they have it in England. If I want to eat something local, I look at the food list on this site and use for my diet calander the food which has the same or very close nutritional value- for instance "heavy cream"- I take the local brand which has 8 net carbs per 100 gr, and find the heavy cream on the food list which also has 8 net carbs per 100 gr.

(I am one of the people who has trouble with coffee and caffeine as it affects my bloodsugar)[/quote] I've been on iduction for 4 weeks!!!! and it was frustrating as i was loosing weight then gaining it back on several times while doing induction and strictly following all the rules (ending up where i started). now after doing the fat fast on which i lost about 6 lb, and have'nt put any of them back on (pleassssse let it stay that way), i'm trying to keep the cals low (i'm aiming for 1300-1400, but am closer to 1500) and for now will keep the nuts, as i see that my body accepts them well.

PIZZA! ( ok, just the toppings) do you indulge?
as long as we are on the subject, what do you people say about 85% cocoa dark chocolate? it says 19 carbs per 100 gr, meaning 4 carbs per serving. do you think this might be atkins-compatible?

what i ate these last few days are what's allowed during doing the fat fast- doing so you have to to limit the intake to 1000 cals a day, 90% of them from fat- the recomended mainly cream cheese/brie and nuts, the rest from protiens and carbs. that's why it's really not healthy to do for over 5 days. now, after jumpstarting weight loss (i realllllllly hope so,going back to induction with the foods it restricts to and their ratios.

thanks everybody!!! but i have already followed most of the advice given here. i drink tons of water and in addition to it club soda, i get those 12-15 carbs from veggies, i eat the 1500-1600 cals...maybe in the pic i don't look fat,but i am overweight- though my face is long and thin... i need to loose 20 lb in order to be avarage weight, 24 to be where i want. i just did the fat fast and lost about 6 lb in those 4 days, and am hopeful that now, as i'm back to "regular" induction the weight will continue to go down, and even if it does fluctuate, i just don't want it to go up, as what was happening- i just went up and down for two weeks, ending right where i started (and not cheating at all)....

The Fat Fast
After I almost threw in the towel, I read in one of the posts somebody's suggestion of trying the "fat fast". so I searched it on the web, and decided to give it a try. I started on Friday, and up to today (3 days) lost almost 5 lb!!! I know it's not very healthy so I won't stay on it for more than 5 days as suggested, I know I will supposedly gain back some of it, but it gives me hope that I"ve finally "educated" my body to loose weight...

Ok. 2 weeks are over. I've implemented everybody's tips- cut down on dairy, cut down on artificial sweetners, upped the veggies, cut out the diet soda...and- nothing! for 3 or 4 days I loose a tiny bit of weight, and then on the 5th day I start gaining it back!!! I'm so frustrated!!! I'm exactly where I started...

Lack of Appetite
I can relate. I just started the Atkins myself (about 10 days ago), and to my great suprise noticed that if I eat only when hungry I eat around 1100 cals a day- something I could only wish for before starting this diet. But as it seemed noting was happening but flactuations in my weight, the advice here was to go higher with the cals (more basic veggies). So for the past 2 days I am actually forcing nyself to eat....let's see if things get better....

the mystery of cucumbers...
ok, after all your great advice, i added a cucumber (unpeeled) to my breakfast. i added a medium sized one, sliced it- it fit into 1/2 a cup (i promise i didn't force it to :d. and as i entered it into my calander i found out the paradox- 1 cucumber, unpeeled has about 10 carbs, while 1/2 a cup sliced has about 3 carbs.... which one should i count on?

I've got on the Atkins a week ago. Up to day 5 I lost about 5 lb. But on day six I gained 1, and on day 7 it went up another 1!!! I haven't cheated at all, and even ate less. I drink enough water, no alcohol- what's going on?

Mix them with some garlic, salt, olive oil, some fresh chopped cilantro and lemon juice... For a more creamy sauce you can add a little bit of low fat mayo and mustard... Or just eat them as they come... ...
