Veggies For Breakfast
Just made another one very similar with 3 strips center cut bacon (only 70 calories), cut into pieces, cook then add a couple of handfuls of cut up kale, saute. Cook seperately 3 eggs over easy/med. Then place kale on plate, top with eggs and some jalapeno's, chop up and enjoy! Almost forgot the splash of basalmic vinegar on the kale before placing the eggs. Makes the kale not bitter.

Veggies For Breakfast
My absolute favorite breakfast salad is greens topped with a slice or two of chopped bacon (I put it on the salad while still hot), then 2 over easy/med eggs, avacodo, sliced jalapeno's (from the jar) and a drizzle of balsalmic vinegar. Then I chop it all up together, yummy. Kind of like a warm spinach, bacon & egg salad.

Weight Loss for Ketogenic or Paleo Diet
I was not looking for advice on how to diet, but more rather on the science behind it. Everyone has their own belief system, I've done the research and I do what works best for my body. I don't log everything I eat and I am not anywhere near 100% but I am working on it. I am tweeking my percentages to see what works best for me. Thanks for the responses, I appreciate that you took the time to try and answer my question.

Paleodiet
For me the paleo diet is the best. I have always had problems with hypoglycemia and now that is gone. Paleo is not low carb, but it alleviates the grains which was a big trigger for me. I try to stay low carb for my diet, but definitely plan on introducing higher carb vegetables and fruits once I reach my goal weight. I also agree with the idea that grains cause systemic inflammation as my hip pain has been gone shortly after I quit eating them. I'm an 80/20 kind of girl, so I'm not super duper strict, but I've found that eating this way is easy and very natural and I don't miss the grains at all.

Weight Loss for Ketogenic or Paleo Diet
Okay, got a question for the low carb guru's (anyone who believes that pufa's and grains lead to chronic inflammation and insulin is the fat storage hormone). What type of fat loss can be expected if your daily intake of carbs is less than 50g? Say you're eating these macro's 40% protein 50% fat 10% carbs or, cause I can't make up my mind 30% protein 60% fat and 10% carbs. This of course is not a permanent change and may only be done in cycles cause let's face it, sometimes you just gotta have a sweet potato. Say for example (I am using my stats, lol) that your BMR is 1600 and your RMR (sedentary for ease of calculations) is 1900 (and of course I plan on being way more active than that and doing crossfit/tabata type of exercise which complicates the fat burning equation even more). I am curious to see by limiting my carbs will I burn more fat than the typical calories in calories out equation for weight loss due to metabolic processs and the inherently pesty hormones that are stored in fat. Thanks so much!

5 meals a day/eating every 2-3 hours/thermic meals
Research also shows you burn more fat, if you eat less calories early in the day. So for this reason I eat the majority of my daily calories after 5pm.
I'd love to see the research on this! I've been wondering the same thing for a long while. I'm just not hungry in the morning and if I eat breakfast I'm hungry all day long. Thanks!

Top ten mistakes women make in the gym!
Love it! I would add, though this is a non workout related subject, you don't get fat from eating fat, you get fat from eating carbs, i.e. sugar. Would love to see some more pearls of wisdom like these!

hypoglycemia
I suffer from hypoglycemia also and I find that I have to be very careful with what I eat and when. Another thing to note is that stress will also cause an adrenalin response that will dump insulin in your bloodstream and cause a hypoglycemic event. I've been doing a low carb diet for a while now and I am amazed that I haven't had any problems with low blood sugar. I have 1 cup of milk in the morning as part of my latte and I also add vanilla protein powder to it and that has helped alot.

High Fat Panic Attack
It is amazing that people still believe in the low fat diet. I argue every day with people about that. Just keep an eye on your cholesterol levels, but if you are eating the good fats found in olive oil, avocado's and nuts you'll be fine.

GREEN TEA?!
Okay, quick question with regard to green tea...is the stuff you add to your water bottle just as good as brewed tea? You know, that tea on the go stuff?

Caffeine
Okay, I would like input on caffeine. I know in excess it is not good...causes adrenal exhaustion and over production of cortisol which can wreck your metabolism and cause increase fat in your abdomen. So should I cut it completely from my diet? Right now I have about 4 oz. of espresso in the morning and maybe one diet soda during the day, sometimes more. I'm 40, so hormones and insulin sensitivity are a big concern for me. Educate me, lol!

New Years Resolution
LOL, so here it is...What is your New Years Resolution? Let's not make it something crazy, mine is simple. Eat breakfast and eat more often. I can go almost all day without eating, I get too busy at work, don't take a break, eat a late lunch, etc. My weight loss stalls or I crave carbs (and not the good kind). P.S. Happy New Year!

elephants and lions
LOL, I love the cat analogy, but I'm gonna put a kink into it...the skinny cat is hyperthyroid and the chubby cat has diabetes, two very common cat ailments. I think there are benefits to both diets, it's all about personal preference and what works best for you. Try one or the other for 30 days and listen to your body. Physiologically speaking, cats are carnivores, a gazelle is probably a hind gut fermentor or herbivore and relies on bacteria in the gut to metabolize the carbs into VFA's (fatty acids). If a herbivore eats too much protein they go into metabolic acidosis.

Protein Powder
Love the magic bullet, my kids use it everyday. They think chocolate protein shakes are chocolate milk, lol. They love platinum's chocolate peanut butter. I have to tell them, no, you can't have another shake right now, lol.

Greek Yogurt VS Regular Yogurt
I buy the plain low fat or fat free greek yogurt, usually fage and I love it. I add stevia or xylitol plus blackberries or nuts. I really watch my sugar intake, so I buy plain and add what I need to make it yummy. Read the label of most flavored yogurts and they either have corn syrup or nutrasweet in it, two things I avoid like the plague, lol.
