Getting Back Up
Don't feel bad, you're not alone! I'm in the same boat, I've been MIA for about 6 months and gained 25 lbs :( It feels bad admitting "defeat" but we lost once and we have the ability to lose again. It's so important just being honest with yourself and getting back on that horse, bc many people never do and just keep gaining even more back. Stay strong!

What's You New Year's Resolution for 2011?
I'd like to reach my final goal weight of around 150 lbs, and maintain through the end of the year. I'd also like to keep up with my weight training to build more muscle mass/tone. And I'll take a page out of bella611's book and say learn to recognize my successes more! I feel like sometimes I don't reward myself for a job well done (it used to be with food- must find a new outlet! Like shopping, lol)

Before and After, anyone?
What an inspiring thread! Here's my contribution: [img]http://fatsecret.com/stat... (Apologies for the small image-- technology and I don't mix well!):)

It is not a race...
Approximately 90lbs in 9 months. Doesn't feel that long at all, though! Guess time flies when you're having fun, right? :P

the shape of weight loss
It seems to switch about every 5 lbs. For example, right now I'm losing from the bottom of my limbs before the top- so bonier wrists and ankles, but still a lot to lose on upper arms and thighs. And, embarrassingly enough, I don't lose weight symmetrically from side to side. As a woman, you can imagine how this could be awkward until both sides even out, haha!

Emotional Eater
You might want to check out this book called "Shrink Yourself: Break Free from Emotional Eating." Good read, and full of helpful tips that were useful for me.

Anyone read(ing) and/or following the Complete Beck Diet for Life?
I read it when starting my weight loss, though I didn't follow the program. It was really helpful for me, especially curbing my compulsive eating.

Adding strength training?
I just started using "Smart Girls Do Dumbbells"- it's cute and very well written, all about beginning weight training at home. I'd definitely recommend it.

Losing Weight Takes Forever
Amen!! There's a certain empowerment to truly taking responsibility for your own poor eating choices- it means that you really do have the power to change, that nothing is outside of your own willpower!

"Cheat food" ... What's would be your Ultimate Freebie food? You could have as much as you
Oh this is tough... it'd be close between a few different things, but probably ice cream. Mmmmm, love it!

Hilarious! Well, so far I lost my head, but I'm aiming for the average two-year old. Gosh, I hope that sentence never gets taken out of context!!
