Can you do Atkins without veggies?
but I can eat carrots and 'small onions', but broccolis and the ones like that, I feel like throwing up when I eat them, it's serious aversion, very hard to explain.
Hi, What are the likes? How about tomatoes, peppers, avocados? These are the veggies I eat most although I don't have a problem with anything (except cucumbers 8) )

Question: carbs in 'free' foods
they are your net carbs and need to be counted. Don't worry, main thing is to get 12-15 net carbs from foundation veggies.

question about fats and protien
Shewiz - we all encounter the problem of not being hungry at some point. You can add calories easily with adding some olive oil etc to your veggies or have some avocado. You will see, you'll get the calories together.

question about fats and protien
Hi there -I tend to forget the numbers so I always look up ctlss, one of the moderators here.
"As for the protein and fat, a rough pie chart is to try to aim for about 55-60 percent of your calories from fat, 35-40 percent from protein, and 5-10 percent from carbs."
Marialife147 - if you entered all your food into the diary you are doing pretty good. You can check that on the pie chart at the bottom of the page. Shewiz - as for being in induction, carrots are not on the list of foundation veggies and should not be eaten now. You can find the list on Atkins.com. Also make sure you have at least between 1200 and 1400 call/day, if not more right now. Otherwise your body will go into starvation mode and you will stop losing weight. Hope the information helped :)

How often do you eat meat?
If you eat enough meat, about 4-6 oz per meal or eat eggs you will not feel hungry. Have some lettuce that also give some fibers. Another thing that keeps you from getting hungry is fat. Feel free to look into my food diary and how I eat (not that I would be perfect). The snacks are spread out throughout the day.

solo mission
You go girl - be as stubborn as you can be. A lot of times all of us get these responses. Don't let it get to you. You will lose the weight, will need smaller pants by the time spring is here. You can do it, no matter what anyone says. Just smile when they say something like that and keep on going :-)))))

Nyquil and Atkins
I agree with greener, it is normal to have ups and downs. Once the medication is out of your system you will lose the water. I think we are all too goal oriented, working so hard for success. Even a "normal" person has fluctuations because of some water retention or whatever. We are not machines. But for us weight loss means success and every tiny gain a failure. We have to get that out of our heads. As long as the trend is right we are on the right path. No one measured the gaining phase we all were in once. I bet there were times when we lost, times when we stalled and times when our trend was pretty clear. We just did not measure and judge it, did not even notice the trend. It is hard not to hit the scale every day. We are so eager to get rid of the ballast. I think it is a part of the plan to learn to trust our self.

How long did you think it would take...
Quite an interesting question. I have not set a timeline at all. I know where I want to go and I will go there, not matter how long it takes (it will be long since I am losing like a snail is moving). With Induction I am quite happy since I can have meat. Don't need bread that much. Another advantage I see i that the longer it takes the more the lifestyle will get ingrained into the system and errors are less likely. I am sure my recent weigh goal will not be my final goal, depends on how I feel when I get there.

Flavored coffee tips?
So far I have used vanilla flavored soy milk in my coffee. Had a sugar free that contained Splenda and am now trying almond milk , all with vanilla flavor. I used not to drink sweetened coffee but those milks got me somehow hooked onto it. The almond milk is definitely sugar free and does not taste sweet. Maybe I will be able to switch over again.

The No Name Way to Eat Healthy
I find the statement about the broken egg yolks quite interesting. Over all this makes a lot of sense although if you just started (restarted) on Atkins it could be compromising. I'd rather stick with that for now.

How to find nutrition data?
thank you so much, this looks great. After digging for a little while I came up with the information for exactly the loaf I have and I decided not to eat it. Full of sugar. So, it ended up in the freezer. Nice thought of my daughter but she will have to take it back. I will see that I get this one from Boars Head every now and then. Looks sooooo delicious ;-)

Best way to tighten up thighs
[url=http://www.shape.com/fitn... Maybe this could help. I like it because you can see what you have to do, can do it at home, don't need to join a gym. As for the weights - if you have not done anything so far I have my doubts you would start off with 25 lbs. Use a bottle of water to begin with and be inventive with what else you can use (maybe fill a bottle with sand) Perhaps you can buy some weights but as I said, I would (and will) start off slow :) Have fun!

So, Who Takes What???
I take Fish Oil (2x2), Multi for her +50 no iron gelcap (1x1), Caltrate (2x2), and Magensium (1x1) Fish Oil for all the fat we eat, Multi, never bad, Caltrate to avoid Osteoporosis, and Magnesium, since I am in Induction, to prevent cramps. Magensium has slight laxative impact, therefore no fear of constipation. I take the Multivitamin with the others in the morning, the Magnesium at night. As for the nutrients, I was able to look them up or use the information on the bottle to ad them here and put it to my food diary, copy it from day to day. The best way to take the vitamins is right after breakfast. Never try to take them on an empty stomach, it really makes you sick.

New To Atkins
Hi Rochelle, welcome! Do you know that you can set your food entry to count net carbs? Just go to 'my account' and click 'net carbs'on the bottom of the page. It makes things a lot easier. :) Jozette
