Did anyone see my question re. "Weight control" oatmael?
I like it. It has little to no sugar, and I prefer the maple sugar taste to regular oats. My experience has been good, I like them and they work with the Abs Diet, just watch the sugar contents when you are buying packaged oatmeal. Oh also, I have been putting a scoop of vanilla whey protein in it (just add more water and it doesnt taste chalky or anything). Not sure how this would be with regular oats, probably ok if you added some fruit or Splenda. I think that the book doesnt include some of the more recent consumables (like Splenda and Weight Wactcher oatmeal etc.), the book is more or less setting you up with guidelines for a lifestyle change. As long as you understand why you can and can not eat certain things, you are having everything in moderation and watching those nutrition facts. the oatmeal is high in fiber and protein, and low in calories and sugars, I think it is ok.

Women on the Abs Diet....
Hello Ladies!! Hope all of you are doing very well on the Abs diet. The one thing I struggle with is that it is so directed towards men. Im sure you all feel my pain! Should I be cutting back the amount of calories it says to have daily, since its focused on men? Has anybody else been struggling with this? I have been doing the exercises in the book, I love the weight training and my boyfriend is doing it with me so he has been a huge help in that area, and for cardio I do interval training a few times a week and a run on Sunday. So I think I have the work out part down, I am just not sure exactly how many calories I should be consuming. Oh...and on the cheat meal....how bad can we ACTUALLY cheat, I feel like I gain back 2 lbs after my cheat meal. Suggestions?!

What!? No love for the abs diet?
Hey there!! I am on the Abs Diet too....and am loving it. I dont feel deprived, and I have gained more muscle, I can see my body starting to change. Sunday will be two weeks that I have been on the diet. Its more of a lifestyle change than a diet and thats why I like it. The only thing that I am bummed about is that it is mainly targeted for men. They dont have any women's version of the book. So, I have just been cutting back the portion sizes a little bit to fit my daily calorie intake. Any other advice?

What time of day do you exercise?
Working out for me is a stress reliever, so I prefer the afternoon, after work because it is a great way to let go of all the days frustrations. That way by the time I get home I am in a totally different state of mind then I was leaving work. Also I remember reading an article that said no matter how tired you feel after work you still have energy to work out. I think you burn more calories too because you are more awake then first thing in the morning. Might be personal preference but I am not a morning person, the more sleep I can get the better ;)

"Saving" part of a smoothie for later
Hey there, My solution is the Magic Bullet. I have one and I absolutely love it. Its nice because it is like a single serving smoothie. I love it I use it at least twice a day, and the cups are super durable. If you are busy and always on the go its great because you can just blend and go. Might be worth it.

food calander
Put the food in a Recipe (far right). then once that is done, you can add it to your plan. Otherwise, you can put the components in, but better to do recipes.

Veggies, veggies and more veggies. The more I eat the more I lose! I've been making lots of soup with lots of veggies and ground turkey or cubed cooked chicken.
